==Career at the Marshfield Clinic==

At that time, the [[Marshfield Clinic]] (MC), in [[Marshfield, WIWisconsin]], was expanding its medical staff to build a multispecialty capability. Dr. Lawton joined the MC as its 22nd physician and its first board-certified thoracic surgeon.
