== Good Article nomination ==

I've reread [[PJ Haarsma]] several times over the past month or so and I feel that it is ready for a GA nomination. The process usually takes a month--so if you would like, I would be happy to nominate the article. I strongly feel that it safely meets GA criteria and I doubt that it would fail. Dixie [[User:Hag2|Hag2]] ([[User talk:Hag2|talk]]) 19:19, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

:It would be great if you could do that. Thank you, Dixie. Let me know what you need from me.--[[User:Kethra|Kethra]]{[[User Talk:Kethra|talk]]} 20:23, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

::Okay. Here is what I would like you to do. This link [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Good_article_nominations] will take you to the nomination page. Once there, the instructions ask for a nominator to list the article in a particular subsection (see the list on the right). My current thinking is that I want to list your article in the EVERDAY LIFE category rather than the LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE because past experience has shown that more reviewers follow the EVERYDAY category. Let me know which of the two you would prefer. (LITERATURE may produce a more thoughtful and better reviewer. EVERYDAY could produce a ''blitzkrieging'' character who merely wants to say that he has reviewed a Good Article. I have seen some fairly pathetic reviews which do little more than fill-in-the-blanks of the "How to Review a Good Article".) You will notice that there is a backlog of articles. **Additional remarks five minutes later. On second thought after looking through the long EVERYDAY list, I believe we should list it in the LIT. Dixie[[User:Hag2|Hag2]] ([[User talk:Hag2|talk]]) 21:30, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

:::LIT sounds good to me.--[[User:Kethra|Kethra]]<sup>{[[User Talk:Kethra|talk]]}</sup> 23:20, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

::::[[PJ Haarsma]] is now a GA candidate. In the interim, take a look at this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_CD_Selection]. I think you will find the subject interesting. I ran across it while surfing through Peer Review requests—specifically the [[Talk:Benjamin Harrison]] page. There, you will see the box for a tag <nowiki>{{tl|WPCD-People|small=yes}}</nowiki>. As soon as we can figure out how to get both [[PJ Haarsma]] and [[The Softwire]] listed into the next CD selection (2010?), I think we should attempt gaining access for that. (All of your planned articles on the Haarsma material would be further input too.) [[User:Hag2|Hag2]] ([[User talk:Hag2|talk]]) 13:44, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

; Member in Focus

* Hi, I have been a member of this project for a few months now, and after finally gotten to grips with Wikipedia I have decided to take on the role of writing this newsletter (currently by myself, but any help would be appreciated) with some helpful tips from [[User:the ed17|The Ed17]]. After undertaking this I realise why it was so difficult to keep it going. I will, however, persevere. From the members, I would encourage you to vote in the '''Coordinator elections''', and take up roles at the Job Centre. The project has struggled recently, and I am hoping to try and revive it. If, with the publication of this newsletter, there are a couple of things that aren't quite up-to-date (like the Collaboration part), you can be certain I am working on it. I will be trying to get a newsletter out on around the 21st of every month. Finally, thanks for the help Ed. Regards, [[User:Alan16|Alan16]] ([[User talk:Alan16|talk]]) 23:41, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

This is my first attempt at the newsletter, and I hope it at least gets close to the previous high standards set by [[User:Kevinalewis|Kevinalewis]] and [[User:the ed17|The Ed17]]. I will once again encourage you to vote in the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject_Novels/Coordinators/June_2009|Coordinator elections]], as I hope it could be the springboard to revitalise the project. I'll keep working on the newsletter, partially because I like the stress, and partially because we need it to get members and would-be members interested. Hopefully the start of great things. ==Proposed deletion of The Seventh Sun==

[[Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg|left|48px|]]

A [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion]] template has been added to the article [[The Seventh Sun]], suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

:This game has not received any significant coverage from reliable, third-party sources - and therefore is not notable enough for inclusion ([[WP:N]])

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's [[Wikipedia:Criteria for inclusion|criteria for inclusion]], and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "[[Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not|What Wikipedia is not]]" and [[Wikipedia:Deletion policy|Wikipedia's deletion policy]]). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
{{tl|dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on [[Talk:The Seventh Sun|its talk page]].

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the [[WP:PROD|proposed deletion process]], the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]] or it can be sent to [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|Articles for Deletion]], where it may be deleted if [[Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus]] to delete is reached. [[User:Marasmusine|Marasmusine]] ([[User talk:Marasmusine|talk]]) 08:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

:Hi Kethra, thanks for your edits to [[:The Seventh Sun]]. However, I have removed several sections that you sourced through forum posts, as these are not usually acceptable for verification ([[WP:V]].) [[User:Marasmusine|Marasmusine]] ([[User talk:Marasmusine|talk]]) 09:20, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

::Understandable. At this point in production, those reviews (not my fault the reviews were in forum format!) are all that's available from a verification standpoint, besides the game's official website.--[[User:Kethra|Kethra]]{[[User Talk:Kethra|talk]]} 20:35, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

[[Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg|left|48px|]]

The article [[The Seventh Sun]] has been [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed for deletion]] because of the following concern:

:This information is not attributed to reliable, third-party sources ([[WP:V]]), and no assertion of notability is presented ([[WP:N]])

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be [[WP:DEL#REASON|deleted for any of several reasons]].

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
{{tl|dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your [[Help:edit summary|edit summary]] or on [[Talk:The Seventh Sun|the article's talk page]].

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
{{tl|dated prod}}
will stop the [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion process]], but other [[Wikipedia:deletion process|deletion process]]es exist. The [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion process]] can result in deletion without discussion, and [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|articles for deletion]] allows discussion to reach [[Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus]] for deletion. [[User:Marasmusine|Marasmusine]] ([[User talk:Marasmusine|talk]]) 19:43, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
