The Battle of Hannik was a battle between the Funj Sultanate and the Ottoman Empire at Hannik, resulting in a Funj Victory.[2][3]

Background

The Ottoman Empire declared war on the Funj Sultanate in 1525. The Ottoman Empire first seized Suakin. Suakin then was captured by Portugal from the Ottoman Empire during the Ottoman-Portuguese war.

Aftermath

In 1590, the war ends with the Ottomans stopping their invasion of the Funj Sultanate.
