Maximila Robi Muniko is a Kenyan professional footballer who plays attacking midfield for Kibera Soccer Women FC[1] in the Kenya Women's Premier League. She also represents the Kenya national team, Harambee Starlets, internationally.
Early Life and Education
Maximila Robi Muniko was born in Mathare, Nairobi, Kenya, where she discovered her passion for football. She started playing football at Beijing Primary School under her coach, Mark Okwiri[2] participating in the Chapa Dimba tournaments. She later attended Kobala High School[3], where she honed her football skills as a central defender and later as an attacking midfielder.
Maximila began her club career with Kibera Soccer Women FC in 2021, despite challenges posed by the Kenyan football ban and team relegation. She quickly impacted, scoring 8 goals and 12 assists in her debut season in the Kenya Women's Division 1 league. In the following season, she recorded 14 goals and 25 assists in 22 games, earning recognition as the Player of the Season. Her performances helped the team to earn a promotion to the Kenya Women's Premier League.[4]
The 2023/24 season with Kibera Soccer Ladies
In her debut season in top-flight football with Kibera Soccer Women FC, Maximila Robi Muniko recorded 8 goals and 5 assists in 18 games. Her noteworthy contributions established her as a valuable player in the Kenya Women's Premier League, leading to her nomination for the league MVP category alongside Lydia Akoth and Rebecca Okwaro of Kenya Police Bullets at the FKF Gala in July 2024.[5]
International Career
Maximila Robi Muniko has been called up to the Kenya national team, Harambee Starlets Under 20, twice making her debut against Uganda.[6]
