Bounty hunters may all be scum. But even we have a code.Xonr

The Bounty Hunter Code, also known as the Bounty Hunters' Code,[2] the code of the Guild, or the Guild Code, was a set of rules that governed the conduct and behavior of bounty hunters under the Bounty Hunters' Guild.[1]

Members of the guild are expected to live by a code, which is intended to keep them from poaching another hunter's bounty, killing another guild member in good standing, or taking a personal interest in their targets once the bounty has been paid. In theory, it is a good system to help regulate some very bad people. However, not every bounty hunter belongs to the guild. And even of those who do, not all adhere strictly to the code.Hondo Ohnaka

The Code forbade a bounty hunter of the Bounty Hunters' Guild to slay another guild bounty hunter[4] who was in good standing[3] or steal another hunter's bounty.[2] It also forbade hunters from asking about their bounties once delivered, requiring that the events that transpired from accepting the bounty to its delivery to be immediately forgotten.[1]

How uncharacteristic of one of your reputation. You have taken both commission and payment. Is it not the code of the Guild that these events are now forgotten?Djarin questions the Client regarding his plans for the Child

The Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk was displeased when two Ranat and Nimbanel bounty hunters that he encountered on the Outer Rim world of Lothal failed to honor the Code and attempted to collect an Imperial bounty on his head.[5] Beilert Valance was well known for flouting the Code,[2] whilst Bossk believed in upholding the Code at any cost.[6]

in 9 ABY,[7] the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin broke the code by rescuing Grogu from the Client after he had retrieved him earlier for a bounty. As a result, the Nevarro Hunters attacked him, trying to get the bounty back.[1]
