"Mace Windu and Other Force Users" is a booklet in a series of canon reference booklets titled the Star Wars Encyclopedia. It was published on September 14, 2021.[1]

The Jedi Order - a group created to enforce peace and justice in the galaxy through peaceful means - sometimes had to take a more aggressive role. During the Clone Wars, for example, several of its members were appointed to lead clone armies as generals, which in some cases led to moral dilemmas. Such was the case with Mace Windu, a member of the Jedi Council at the time, who found himself unable to foresee the terrible conflict that was about to unfold, or to guess who was pulling the strings behind the scenes. Windu, as wise as he was skilled with a lightsaber, was killed before Order 66 was proclaimed. Only a few lucky Jedi managed to save their lives, hiding as best they could from the Empire's watchful eye. One of these survivors was Caleb Dume, who would later become known as Kanan Jarrus and who would play a key role in the early days of the Rebellion.[2]
