The Marvel Comics Illustrated Version of Star Wars Legends trade paperback that collects the first six issues of the Marvel comic-book series Star Wars Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin from George Lucas 's screenplay for the film Star Wars : Episode IV A New Hope
It also includes a special introduction written by Stan Lee , as well as a gallery of pin-ups illustrated by Chaykin and Ernie Chan . The Marvel Comics Illustrated Version of Star Wars was published by Del Rey in November 1977 .
