Espérance Sportive de Tunis (arabisch الترجي الرياضي التونسي, DMG at-taraǧī ar-riyāḍī at-tūnisī), kurz Espérance Tunis oder einfach nur Espérance, ist ein Sportverein aus Tunis, der Hauptstadt von Tunesien. Der Verein wurde am 15. Januar 1919 gegründet und trägt seine Heimspiele im Stadion des 14. Januar aus. Mit 33 nationalen Meisterschaften und 15 Pokalsiegen ist er der erfolgreichste tunesische Fußballverein. Als historisch größter Kontrahent gilt der Stadtrivale Club Africain. Das Derby ist das größte Spiel im tunesischen Vereinsfußball.

Mohamed Zaoui und Hédi Kallel gründeten zusammen mit dem Franzosen Louis Montassier, der erster Vereinspräsident wurde, in einem Café den Verein Café de l’Espérance. L’Espérance Sportive de Tunis wurde offiziell angemeldet am 15. Januar 1919. Die Vereinsfarben waren zunächst Weiß und Grün. 1920 trat ein junger Oberschüler, Chadly Zouiten, dem Klub bei, der einen Satz Trikots mit roten und gelben Streifen mitbrachte; seither sind dies die Vereinsfarben von L’Espérance. Zouiten wurde 1923 Vereinspräsident und blieb dies über vier Jahrzehnte. Während seiner Präsidentschaft spielte die Fußballmannschaft des Vereins zunächst unterklassig, bis sie 1936 in die höchste Spielklasse, die Division d’Honneur, aufstieg. In dieser Saison erreichte L’Espérance auch das tunesische Pokalfinale, musste sich aber Stade Gaulois de Tunis geschlagen geben. 1939 gelang der erste Titelgewinn: L’Espérance wurde Pokalsieger durch einen 3:1-Endspielsieg gegen Étoile Sportive du Sahel. 1994 und 2011 konnte die CAF Champions League, 1995 der Afroasiatische Pokal und 1998 der African Cup Winners’ Cup gewonnen werden.

Obwohl Espérance 2006 wieder tunesischer Landesmeister geworden war, stand mit Hamdi Kasraoui bei der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 nur ein Spieler dieses Vereins im Kader der tunesischen Nationalmannschaft von Trainer Roger Lemerre.

Der Klub ist nach der Anzahl der gewonnenen Titel Tunesiens erfolgreichster Handballverein. Aus der Handballabteilung gingen die Weltklasse-Handballer Wissem Hmam, Heykel Megannem und Issam Tej hervor.
