=== Costs and benefits ===

All costs and benefits, including indirect costs and benefits, have to be weighed against each other in a [[cost-benefit analysis]], to be able to judge whether body cameras lead to a positive or negative business case. The police in [[Kent]], United Kingdom, predicted a positive business case within two years after their investment of £1.8 million in body cameras, purely because of a reduction in the number of complaints.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://www.policeoracle.com/news/police_it_and_technology/2015/Sep/23/-1-8-million-body-cam-rollout-will--pay-for-itself-_89637.html/ |title=1.8 million body cam rollout will pay for itself|date=September 24, 2015 |website=Police Oracle |access-date=March 1, 2017}}</ref>

''Negative Psychological Impacts of BWCs for the Police Force(Body Worn Cameras)'''

The police force can significantly benefit from using the BWC. Using this approach can lower the crime rates for law enforcement and the public; however, using this object raises the question of whether this approach can result in psychological effects like accusations from civilians toward the law system and impact the decision-making process for the police force. The presence of BWC is an indicator to show the target of a possible criminality scene that they are being recorded. So, one can say the existence of such a tool can affect the behavior of the police officer in a way that a sense of anxiety can take over and negatively impact the judgment in a scene. In addition to that, (Saulnier et al., 2020) suggested a point in which individuals might see the BWC as a negative approach used by officers trying to be submissive and controlling that could, later on, leave a negative impact on their impression of the law enforcers trying to do complete their duties. For example, a police officer's attitude at a possible or already occurred crime scene with a body-worn camera can be influenced by the actions done by people who might feel their social rights are under serious threat because of the camera, which can essentially result in the wrong decision-making process and harmful psychological events for an officer of the law system doing their job, and perhaps bringing themselves lifetime regrets in the line of duty.
