History
In 1889, Rochester's first high school was built on Fourth St. and Wilcox St. for ? bucks. The first class graduated from "Academy on the Hill" in 1896. In 1955, groundbreaking for a new building at the current location on the corner of Livernois Rd. and Walton Blvd. took place and on October 31st, 1956, students walked from the "Academy on the Hill" to the new Rochester High School.
A complete renovation of Rochester High (except for the pool which hasn't been renovated since 1956) took place in 2001, which included upgrades to the main office, counseling offices, weight room, pool, gymnasium, the addition of computer labs and photography lab, theater and vocal area, additional science labs, new locker banks, enhanced courtyard with a greenhouse, and a new auditorium,theater areas. The addition of 72 inch flat panel LCD TVs were also installed in the hallways. This school holds the distinction of being the oldest of the three high schools in the Rochester Community School District.

- The Falcon Marching Band has earned 15 consecutive First Division ratings from the MSBOA in District 16 marching band competitions. Also it is not cooler than you.
