Beyond affecting passengers, the pilots and flight attendant unions of AA have protested and taken action against this hazardous work environment. While it seems there is a paucity of sources covering different contemporary cabin class offerings (which was actually what I was looking for - little on current offerings, though there is book coverage on the 20s-30s-50s-60s) - health hazards seem to be taken quite seriously by RSes who cover these at great length. : My edit summary was based on the fact that a majority of the sources (>5) in the section cite issues with the bleed air on Boeing aircraft - this, in addition to the aforementioned settlement, led to hesitancy to conclude that this was an ''American Airlines'' occurance and not a ''Boeing Aircraft'' occurance.
