Welcome to my talk page.
  • Please Note I am usually only online during weekdays during the day. If you post a question in the evenings don't expect a response before the next day, or on Monday if posted during the weekends.
  • I will generally respond here to comments that are posted here, rather than replying via your Talk page (or the article Talk page, if you are writing to me here about an article), so you may want to watch this page until you are responded to, or specifically let me know where you'd prefer the reply.
  • Please note I try to archive discussions as soon as the topic is no longer active.

This user is busy in real life and may not respond swiftly to queries.I end up editing alot for a short time and they have to wait for a while, so I'm hit and miss.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Ordinance (LDS Church). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Ordinance (Latter Day Saints). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ordinance (Latter Day Saints) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. RichardOSmith (talk) 18:55, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • I do not see anywhere in the MOS/LDS pages that one should created articles by simply copying and pasting and adding "Church" somewhere. It is the laziest way of article creation possible. But some minor changes were made so I have no choice but to deny this speedy deletion nomination by RichardOSmith. But note, Artest4Echo, that I gave you an edit summary that actually provided attribution. What you did was basically a copyright violation; see WP:Copying within Wikipedia. Really quite disappointing. Drmies (talk) 01:50, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
cmt @Drmies: - First of all what happened to WP:Assume Good Faith and WP:Civility. As I have never seen WP:Copying within Wikipedia before, it seem strange that I be called lazy and a copyright violator, when I think you fail to realize the history of these pages.
I did not Copy and Paste Ordinance (Latter Day Saints) to Ordinance (LDS Church) and only make some minor changes. Your compairing what it is now, not what it was before.
While I admit I started did start with the very poorly written July 18th version, there are MAJOR changes between what it was when I started and what it is now.
What I did was, in a way was a "move" (but I admit not exactly). Using my Sandboxs, I took a page that was representative of the LDS Church, made some major changes to update and cite it, making it clear that this was a LDS Church page, and "move" (so to speak) it to Ordinance (LDS Church), as User:Jgstokes suggested on the talk page.
Then almost simultaneously, I also change the same work I was doing, to make a version that was actually a (Latter Day Saints) vision, as the page should have been.
I then launched the Ordinance (LDS Church) version first, then later updated the (Latter Day Saints) vision. What I did was make it clear that whate was really a (LDS Church) version was just that, and then changed (Latter Day Saints) into what it should have been. Therefore, if anything (Latter Day Saints) is now a Copy and Paste of the (LDS Church) page, not the other way around as you are so angry about.
I will read WP:Copying within Wikipedia, now that I know it exists, which seems to be the issue you have. However, to be clear, I do not agree with you assessment. I agree that I didn't make my actions clear, so they appeared the way you suggest, so that is my bad. Therefore I will work to make it more clear so that there isn't any confusion with regards to WP:Copying within Wikipedia
However, ultimately, what I have done is exactly what MOS:LDS and WP:NCLDS has defined how articles related to the Latter Day Saint movement vs the LDS Church are supposed to work. (see Sacrament (Community of Christ) vs Sacrament (LDS Church) vs Sacrament (Latter Day Saints) and First Presidency (Latter Day Saints) vs First Presidency (Community of Christ) vs First Presidency (LDS Church) and Priesthood (Latter Day Saints) vs Priesthood (LDS Church) vs Priesthood (Community of Christ)). Additionally, as time goes on more and more differences will come up as I have only as of yet added 5 of the major Latter Day Saint denominations to the the (Latter Day Saint) page. --- ARTEST4ECHO(Talk) 12:52, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, for someone who's been here this long, and who's probably finished high school, from such a person we can expect they don't just go around copying and pasting. Yes, I find that to be a lazy way of article writing and it is not a way that I saw recommended in the guidelines you cite, which talk about naming conventions and stuff like that. Anyway, whenever you do something like that, please follow the proper procedure, which is found in the link I gave you. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 14:12, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, for someone who's been here this long, and who's probably finished high school, from such a person we can expect they understand and follow WP:Assume Good Faith, WP:Civility, WP:bold. After all I think name calling is by far worst then not making an edit summery clear. If the fact that it took from 13:00, 15 September 2015‎ to 21:09, 16 September 2015‎ (over 32 hours) to make the changes makes me "lazy" in your eye's then I see no way to not be lazy. I can only hope I never have the pleasure of working with you again, and I will Wikipedia:Drop the stick and back slowly away from the horse carcass.--- ARTEST4ECHO(Talk) 14:32, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
