Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Nephiopia) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. NawlinWiki 19:37, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Nephiopia. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 19:51, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Wickethewok 19:57, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you have a lot of userboxes. A wikitable might help you organize them. Bahamut0013 17:42, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:I123.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. mattbr 14:55, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Redirects. Please don't make anymore of them. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:30, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

That may be so but the redirects will be deleted. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:34, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Image talk:Margateclocktower.JPG, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image talk:Margateclocktower.JPG|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. OsamaK 07:01, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Hartsdown Technology College requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Jeanenawhitney (talk) 18:49, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

As it says above, please don't remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Add the 'hangon' tag if necessary. Thanks. Epthorn (talk) 19:05, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

You haven't shown how this is a notable school, so I've restored the speedy delete tag. - UtherSRG (talk) 19:23, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

First,
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you.

Second,
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you.

And finally, note that someone HAS now taken the speedy delete tag off the article (only you, as the creator of the article, are not supposed to). Since the article is still unlikely to be considered notable by everyone, you may want to continue to improve it by adding outside sources. Epthorn (talk) 13:11, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Raleigh Tavern.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Jay, please don't submit articles about your fanfic. DS (talk) 16:22, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

An unpublished book? If it's not yet published, then it doesn't yet meet criteria for inclusion. You said it was about characters from Stargate? Is it licensed? Do you have official permission? Also, since it's by you, I strongly suggest you read the conflict of interest guidelines. DS (talk) 16:31, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
I didn't say it has characters from <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lupin/navpop.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css&dontcountme=s">stargate i said it has items from stargate. Jay, I LOVE YOU 16:34, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, f*** it, I got writers block anyway. Jay Turner (talk) 16:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Even if you just use the Stargate setting, you still need to get permission from the production company. If you don't have that permission, then your work is fanfic. There's nothing wrong with writing fanfic, but individual fics don't get Wikipedia entries. DS (talk) 16:40, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Mélusine.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about this but an edit summary indicating that it was you or logging in would solve that. I have seen several IP's make changes to a user page who have used edit summaries indicating that it was the editor but not logged in. Cheers. I have gone ahead and set up your table for you. If you want to rearrange it, just remember: the little | at the beginning of each line denote a new column, and the |- denote a new row. I set it four boxes to a row beacuse it looks fine on my resolution, if it looks crappy to you, you can shift the |- to every third box. bahamut0013 19:15, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately Im not very good at Japanese. However there are many wikipedians who live in Japan on the en.wikipedia. Re:Japanese

Hey, in response to your message, I do know some Japanese. I was stationed in Okinawa for a short while, and picked up on a lot of the social niceties (excuse me, thank you, where is the bathroom, etc.) and cultural nuances. However, my written understanding is extrememly limited, even with a Kana reference. I can write my name in script, and that's about it. Why do you ask? bahamut0013 17:36, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, I'm a Marine. And I'd like to help, but my grasp of the language is thin enough that I can barely order dinner at a restaurant. I'm sure there are far better qualified teachers than myself for that. Sorry! However, I can point you to a great reference and translator. I used it to learn most of what I do know about the nuances of the Japanese language. bahamut0013 17:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, since the US and Japan are close frineds now, Japan lets us keep bases there (mostly on the island of Okinawa). We do a lot of training with the Japanese Self-Defense Force. bahamut0013 21:15, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, not at all. There are lots of examples of friendship and cooperation between the US and Japan. They love to share thier culture with us, and we love to share right back. That's why I requested to be stationed on Okinawa: to experience Japan firsthand. I've eaten squid that I caught myself, read a dirty manga I bought at a bus stop, ridden a train across the home island, and walked the streets of Tokyo. Certainly a lovely people. bahamut0013 00:42, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, that speedy deletation was quick! TOO QUICK!

Hi, I see you reverted my edit to Margate - all I was trying to do was link Margate railway station from the main article, perhaps there is a better place to do it? Other local pages I edited include History of Margate, Friend to all Nations, Kingsgate Castle, Scenic Railway (Dreamland) etc following a trip to visit my Dad who still lives in Margate, where I was brought up. Perhaps you'd take a look at those edits & let me know if there is anything else I can do to help with these articles.— Rod talk 09:47, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field - please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. Hi there - any particular reason you don't think the above page constitutes spam? gb (t, c) 20:40, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the user page policy is fairly specific. It says, "You are welcome to include a link to your personal home page, although you should not surround it with any promotional language." The link in question is not a personal home page and it IS surrounded with promotional language. - Philippe | Talk 20:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, have just read your comment on their talk page. Which rules were you looking at, out of interest? I reckon these could be a good start, and in particular the line which says "Advertising or promotion of a business or non-Wikipedia-related organization (such as purely commercial sites or referral links)". gb (t, c) 20:42, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was looking at the rules which are not written down but are obvious and true. --Jay --G T C-- 20:49, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd be inclined to start with the ones which are written down. Not least because everyone then knows what they are, or if they don't know what they are, they know where to find them. gb (t, c) 20:51, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but as an administrator I can only act on the written down rules. :-) I have speedy-deleted the page as inappropriate for a user page. Wikipedia acts upon consensus as reflected in our (written) policies. - Philippe | Talk 20:52, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ja, I see your point there, but I though a user had full freedom over his page, plus he might have been experimental editing, and the warning, I find them scary, a full smack-on templated warning Argh. (I do just words a quick warning.) --Jay --G T C-- 20:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
As admins and other admin-like users generally deal with loads of pages with a given problem, they tend to find templates quicker and easier. Also the words have been thought through more carefully than we might in a hurry. No need to be scared by templated warnings. Rich Farmbrough, 15:42 30 January 2008 (GMT).

You will seriously need to add a little more explanation when asking what your name is in various languages. Basically the answer will always be "Jay Turner", because names cannot be translated. Question that should be answered are: Do you want your name to be transcribed phonetically or somehow translated (most people don't know what "Jay" means, I guess, and also "Turner" might be very ambiguous). Do you want your full name or just your first name? And then: In most (if not all) languages that use the Latin alphabet, like German, French, Danish, Icelandic, Swahili, Maltese, Navajo, Greenlandic, Vietnamese, Quechua and whatnot, I can tell you the translation already: "Jay Turner". — N-true (talk) 21:18, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

  •   - Completing a task on a To-do list.
  •   - Welcoming Newcomers
  •   - Helping out Newcomers[3]
  •   - Creating a useful page

There are active WPs and normal WPs. You can use active WPs to get your awards. Normal WPs are all the WPs you have earned.

Be aware when you give points, as it may not count unless you tell Jay Turner. Proof will also be needed.

  • 100 WPs - You automatically get this when you have had   - but you can turn it down, and try for  .
  • 1000 WPs - You automatically get this when you have had  .
  • Newbie Helper - This don't use any active points.

I've blocked you for 31 hours for this needless page move vandalism. It was uncalled for and you shouldn't move deletion pages because you're upset that one of the pages you created has been nominated for deletion. When you return from your block, think about editing constructively and consider forms of discussion rather than needless disruption. Ryan Postlethwaite 17:08, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

He had no right to put that up for deletion, ITS USERSPACE! --Jay Turner (talk · contribs) 17:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes he does, he can nominate any page for deletion at WP:MFD. The specific reason for this nomination was because Wikipedia is not a social networking site and he feels your pages go against the user page guidlines. Ryan Postlethwaite 17:15, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't do stuff like that. Check my contribs. I was angry (I rarely get angry). --Jay Turner (talk · contribs) 17:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
