The reason I think Dirk deserves a wiki page is that he is a an early Linux and open source contributor, going on to help found several of the open source foundations and calls to action on diversity and inclusion in this space.

I have added 3 more references to notable blogs in English. The problem is, I don't think there are many references in encyclopedias and science magazines about Balkan cuisine. This dish is neither controversial, nor widely spread around the world - it is just a beloved local dish tourists and locals eat around here. So many people around the world know what a Banitsa pastry is, or Tripe soup, yet look at the wikipedia pages on those subjects and there are no more reliable references than the ones I've provided - food blogs and local literature, something translated to English at best. My point is, I can dig up 50 more references for this stub article, and all food blogs and local cooking shows, but it will get ridiculous.

Also, is it common for a topic to be on disambiguation page, but to lack notoriety to have an article? - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mish_Mash

prior to submitting my content, I did look through most if not all the pertinent material Wiki has on inclusion. I did not include multiple sources (see below) because the article would look busy in the draft format Wiki uses. There is a problem in the page (Kingdom of Jeypore). For the past three months one user is constantly deleting and editing our work. In the beginning he deleted most of the research saying that the evidence is from sources of British Raj. Due to the neglect this area is facing from the Indian and state government since 1947, there are not enough books written on the history of the dynasty but still we tried our best and provided a lot of modern and relevant references to support our article.

However the last two paragraphs under post titlular ruler has one reference from the Times of India newspaper that mentions the coronation of the new titular king of the dynasty. But this user called Rexxx deletes it every time saying it’s unreliable. How is a big sensational news of this kind can be considered unreliable. We have many newspapers mentioning the event and we are ready to provide to whomsoever if required. But pleas please ask this man to stop editing because he is creating a bit unhealthy atmosphere and not letting us concentrate on making this article better.

My next step:

SPIN-Farming provided models on how to make money growing food that reduced the amount of land needed to under an acre. This sub-acre scale of farming enabled more people to try farming and helped a lot of food/farming/gardening movements take root beginning in 2006, including urban agriculture, yardsharing, backyard farming, local farming, and sustainable farming. So what I need to do is make that clear and also provide articles or information sources on these various movements as secondary sources under the References area. Is that correct? Thank you for your speedy reply. I think I know what you want. I do have a reference that would probably meet Wikipedia requirements plus a number of abstracts and two very poor quality photos, all on the internet, BUT they refer not to the invention described in the patent mentioned in my draft contribution, but to a later copy of the invention: Just 5 months after the patent application mentioned was published, a couple of professors filed an application of their own (later abandoned and replaced) for the same mechanism, built two prototypes for tests and published the results and held lectures at events organised by such internationally respected institutions as the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). A whole series of scientific papers on the subject are available against payment.

This must confirm the „notability“ of the invention. However, it would in my opinion be wrong if any article in Wikipedia gave the slightest impression that the mechanism was the invention of the professors. This would surely be „alternative facts“ and run contrary to Wikipedia's stringent rules. They claim to have carried out a patent search and found „nothing remotely similar“, and that „the idea to develop the engine first came ... in 1979“, but anyone can say that and what counts is the priority dates of the patents.

I would be grateful for your suggestions as to how to handle this?

1. that the Cardan hypocyclic gear and Archimedes trammel mechanisms are already in WP. They are both compound eccentric mechanisms that convert reciprocating motion to rotary motion via elliptical motion and vice-versa. The mechanism I am offering does exactly the same, which is plain to see, you don't need a PhD (but it is more robust and less prone to wear). So if the other two have made it into WP, the new one should make it too. And anyone who is interested in the other two would surely also be just as interested in the new one - possibly more so.

2. I have taken another look at the references and abstracts for the plagiarised mechanism and found the name of one of hte professors among the authors in each, so as I understand it, he would not be able to use them in WP as it would be "original research" - but I could, because they are simultaneously "secondary sources" for the original MultiFAZE mechanism. If two university professors doing research and development work on a copy of the mechanism (under a different name) over a decade or so doesn't make the original notable, what does?

3. The abstracts, of course, give links to technical papers that are freely available on the internet to anyone against payment. Thus they provide verifiable, objective evidence from independent sources. I haven't ordered any, since my experience is that one could spend a lot of money on stuff that contains only titbits of interesting information.

As I understand it, references have to exist but do not need to be included in the article.

Sorry to have been out of touch. I got pulled away by other projects. I know SPIN-Farming and its creator Wally Satzewich have been cited in 2 books, so I will include them as references. I see that I need to provide context also. I will also edit down what it is and how it works, and instead explain it in relation to its noteworthy place in the development of local food systems and figure out how to use those inline citations. This will take a while and my time is still short right now. I intend to get back to this later this year, yet. Hi Liance! Thank you for taking a look at our page, it's great to have a pro like you helping out.

I'm, Frank Force, a game developer representing the js13kgames community.

JS13k has just run it's 10th annual contest with 223 entries, and a massive community that participates in other ways. We are a very inclusive and friendly group from beginners to expert developers. All our games are open source on github as per contest rules for people to learn from. I believe this contest is a valuable resource to the game dev and programming communities which is why I participate.

We put a lot of work into this article and finding every legit independent sources possible. It has been somewhat difficult because mainstream media does not tend to cover game jams! However I believe we put together a solid article with many references and even several books that have been in print for years.

In response to your original comment I removed all references that cite the js13kgames website but the very first one which links to the rules. We also found some more sources and I've integrated those and done several other things to improve the article.

Judging is currently underway and several hundred people would be over the moon if we could get this Wikipedia article published before results are announced.

Would love it if you could take another look and help us get this across the finish line. I'm happy to jump on anything you see and fix it right away. Thanks!

Hey, page for [[Draft:Dexerto|Dexerto]] was declined for lack of "significant coverage" in sources. It has 14 sources total, The subject of the article is one of the top 40 gaming websites in the US, but given the nature of news websites, it is near impossible to provide the sources suggested in Wikipedia's 'general notability guidelines' - most news websites are not the subject of coverage themselves.

When reviewing the Wikipedia pages of similar websites, there are no such references given (in fact almost all that I have checked have far fewer independent sources, and some none at all). I am informed that rules around this have changed which is why these websites have pages with such scant references.

Could you please advise on the best approach here, or if it is simply not possible, given the oddly specific notability guidelines which seem to not apply to news websites at all, to have a Wikipedia page for such a large and well-read website? This would strike as odd given the size of the site, and the state of other wiki pages about smaller websites, with fewer references.

I did read the page on notability, etc. that lays out the guidelines for what sources count, and by that guideline, I believe the article should qualify. I'd like to go through the sources one by one and discuss the ones that I believe should qualify (I don't necessarily agree with you that crypto news outlets aren't reliable sources but I understand the reasoning, so we can agree to not count those. I also understand the reasoning regarding Youtube but it is strange that an AMA from the largest cryptocurrency subreddit wouldn't count considering, 1. it is very significant, especially considering the significance of the guest speaker and size of that subreddit and 2. the AMA is 100% independent from Pawthereum).

If, say, coverage and article content primarily concerned price movements or distributed technology behind the subject instead, then I would have approached it with the general notability guidelines. Regardless, I didn't feel that the subject was notable - on Wikipedia, significant coverage in multiple [[WP:RS|reliable sources]] is required. Of the sources you picked I would consider Edinburgh, People.com and Newtown to be reliable, however significant coverage is lacking in the People.com source (it is only mentioned briefly at the end). I added links to my article and also to other articles where "membrane scaling" was just mentioned. So the reader in other articles can check in detail what membrane scaling is. But, I still see that my article is shown as orphan. How to resolve this?

It doesn't look like the draft you want to move to main space is ready to appear in the article space of the project. It seems like it is still in the process of being reviewed. Until it is "main space ready", it is unlikely that an administrator will complete this move that you requested. Eventually, there might be an admin who will decide, "What the heck, I'll do the move" but I'm not sure how long that will take. Most moves from Draft space to main space look like regular articles without all of the AFC tags.
