Mandal was born to Dhanik Lal Mandal in 1958 in Madhubani, Bihar.^[1]

Political career

In the follwing 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election , Bharat Bhushan Mandal of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the seat by defeating Lakshmeshwar Ray of the Janata Dal (United) with a margin of 9471 votes.^[7]^[8] ^[9]

Mandal was nominated as the new district president of RJD on 9 February 2020.^[1]
