Lisa Streich is a Swedish composer of contemporary classical music.

Biography

Lisa Streich was born in 1985 in Norra Råda, Sweden.[1] She grew up in Germany[2] and studied composition and organ at the Berlin University of the Arts (2005–07), Royal College of Music, Stockholm (2007–10), Mozarteum in Salzburg (2008–09), Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (2010–13) and IRCAM in Paris (2011–12).[3] Teachers had been Johannes Schöllhorn[4] and Adriana Hölszky.[2]

Until 2023, she was scholarship recipient at the Norwegian Academy of Music, with Helmut Lachenmann as her mentor.[5] In 2024, Streich has been composer-in-residence at the Lucerne Festival.[6] She received commissions by the Berlin Philharmonic (Ishjärta),[7] Lucerne Festival (REIGEN),[8] and NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (FLÜGEL).[9][10] The trumpet concerto MEDUSE was premiered in 2024 with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.[11][2] Streich's works are published by Ricordi Berlin.[12]
