The 2012 Summer Olympics medal table is a list of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) ranked by the number of medals won during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August, 2012. Approximately 10,500 athletes are expected to participate in 302 events in 26 sports.[1]

Medal table

Medal winners in archery (men's team), from left to right: Brady Ellison, Jake Kaminski, and Jacob Wukie from the United States (silver); Michele Frangilli, Marco Galiazzo, and Mauro Nespoli from Italy (gold); and Kim Bub-Min, Im Dong-Hyun, and Oh Jin-Hyek from South Korea (bronze)

This is the table of the medal count of the 2012 Summer Olympics, based on the medal count of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). These rankings sort by the number of gold medals earned by a National Olympic Committee (NOC). The number of silver medals is taken into consideration next and then the number of bronze medals. If, after the above, countries are still tied, equal ranking is given and they are listed alphabetically. Although this information is provided by the IOC, the IOC itself does not recognize or endorse any ranking system.[2]

In boxing, judo, taekwondo, and wrestling, two bronze medals are awarded in each weight class. Two silver medals and no bronze were awarded for a second place tie in the men's 200 metre freestyle swimming event.[3]

Note: This table reflects accurate medal counts as of 1 August 2012 (Day 5).
