Business
The plastic pipes which ADS produces are used for draining water around buildings and streets. In this field, they compete with traditionally used concrete pipes.[2]
History
ADS was founded in 1966.[3] Since 2014, its common shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange where they have the ticker symbol WMS.[4] In 2017, a fire at the ADS facility in Hamilton, Ohio destroyed around 1 acre of storage are full of plastic pipes.[5][6] Advanced Drainage Systems was led by Joe Chlapaty from 2004 to his retirement in 2017.[7] Afterwards, Scott Barbour became the new president and CEO. As of 2018, ADS had approximately 4400 employees.
