In 1958 Sahratyan finishedgraduated from [[Yerevan State University]], thenand [[Maxim Gorky Literature Institute]]. Helater worked as a lecturer ofat the same[[Maxim instituteGorky Literature Institute]] from 1969 to 1995. He iswas a member of the Board of the Translators' Union of Russia.
