The Fourth North American blizzard of 2010 is a major ongoing [[nor'easter]] and [[blizzard]] affecting the United States of America from portions of North Carolina to Maine on December 26–27, 2010. It is the first significant winter storm of the 2010-2011 winter season and the fourth overall major blizzard affecting the area in 2010. The storm has affected the northeast megalopolis which includes major populated cities such as Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. The storm is expected to dump up tobetween {{Convert|12|in|cm}} to {{Convert|24|in|cm}} of snow in most of these areas.

==Formation==

The storm originally formed in the heels of a storm that brought the significant rains to much of Southern California and the Desert Southwest. The storm has fused together with an upper level low out of central Canada which pulled the storm closer to the cost. It was the uncertainty with the upper level low in central canada that caused extreme difficulty in forecasting this storm. The storm is intensifying as the three lows are merging to create one massive storm.
