'''~~The~~ Disney Channel''' was a British and Irish children's [[pay television]] channel owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company (UK) Ltd, an overseas subsidiary of [[The Walt Disney Company]]. The channel operated in between the years of 1995 to 2020. It is not to be confused with the [[Disney Channel|Original namesake American channel]], which still exists.

The channel was broadcast from 1 October 1995 to 1 October 2020. A one-hour [[timeshift channel|timeshift]] channel called Disney Channel +1 was available on [[Sky UK|Sky]] and [[Virgin Media]]. At the time of closure, the channel had two sister channels, [[Disney Junior (British and Irish TV channel)|Disney Junior]] and [[Disney XD (British and Irish TV channel)|Disney XD]].
