The school's current main campus was designed by HOK Architects, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Mechanical and Electrical systems were designed by [[Syska Hennessy]] Group, Inc. New York City, New York. The facility was constructed in the 1980s by Blount International, a construction firm led by [[Winton M. Blount]] headquartered in [[Montgomery, Alabama|Montgomery]], [[Alabama]], after the firm was awarded the world's then-largest fixed-price contract in history for the sum of approximately $5 billion.<ref name="faculty alshuaibi"/> Hellmuth Obata & Kassabaum (HOK) architects based in St. Louis, USA headed a design consortium with four other companies, known as HOK+4. The consortium comprised of four American practices and one British. The planning and architectural design was shared between HOK and the British architects Gollins Melvin and Ward GMW Partnership based in London, UK while the structural, civil engineering and construction management was by CRS Group. The mechanical and electrical design was by Syska and Hennessy and the geotechnical engineering was by Damers & Moore. Due to the scale of the project the construction team and material suppliers came from around the world including French, German, Swiss, American, Korean and Philippino companies. The construction company/contractor was a joint venture between two companies the French company Bouygues and the American company Blount jointly known as Bouygues/Blount Joint Venture.
