Geography

Nakur is located at 29°55′N 77°18′E / 29.92°N 77.3°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 261 metres (856 feet). It is located 24 km from Saharanpur. it is the oldest tahasil. Nakur is formed by Nakul brother of Pandwas

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[2] Nakur had a population of 20,634. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nakur has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 47%. In Nakur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
