Frederick H. "Pappy" Rohr (Fred), creator of the fuel tanks for [[Charles Lindbergh]]'s ''[[Spirit of St. Louis]]'', founded Rohr Aircraft Corporation on August 6, 1940 with the help of [[Reuben H. Fleet]] after approaching him for a job.
