Stephan James Thliveris (born October 5, 1970), better known as Steven Kray, is an attorney, entrepreneur, musician and founding member/drummer of Canadian-based rock group "Tin Foil Phoenix".

Biography
Kray was a practicing attorney before leaving his legal career to pursue his musical interests. He has since returned to the legal field utilizing his talents in private enterprise. Born in Portland, Oregon, he maintains citizenship in the United States, Canada and the European Community (EC). He has one older sibling, a brother, Thomas Andrew Thliveris.

Style and Influences
Kray's drumming is distinguished by heavy hitting, extraordinary limb independence, complex cross-sticking patterns, and an impressive command of tonal and volume range. He traditionally uses unusual sized crash cymbals (17" and 19") and has never employed hi-hats smaller than 15".

Enterprises
Kray holds an active presence in a variety of entertainment related enterprises: (1) He formed C4 Records and C12 Records with his long time friend, record producer Brandon Friesen; (2) KMG Promotions provides management, consulting, marketing and promotional services for musical artists and associations; (3) KIL Clothing is an extreme street wear clothing line set for retail release in late-spring 2007; (4) S.K. Agency Group provides Canada-wide live bookings for musical groups; (5) P.K. Productions which is a burgeoning entertainment conglomerate that provides licensing and synchronization of music to major motion pictures, television and video games as well as producing motion pictures (although to date no film projects have been formally announced); (6) Kray Industries Limited which provides legal services (corporate/commercial and civil litigation) to both entertainment-related and public clients; and (7) After being encouraged by Friesen, Kray is further becoming known for his producing talents being credited on albums under his producer pseudonym "KIL" (an acronym for "Kray Industries Limited").

Stage Name
"Steven" was chosen as a result of constant mispronounciation of his given name "Stephan" (when properly pronounced it rhymes with "Geffen"). Since childhood most people would interpret or read it as "Stephen" (pronounced Steven as in "Stephen King") or "Stefan" which is the French variation of his name. The name "Kray" was taken as a public-surname after the notorious Kray twins who ruled organized crime in England during the 1960s. Typically his stage name is now only used in performance roles as an entertainer while his legal/proper name is utilized in business ventures and activities.

Accusations of criminal activity
His self-chosen namesake appears to have been a deliberate moniker. Prior to becoming an attorney, Kray engaged in a wide range of criminal activities and has been known to associate with a variety of organizations including the Hells Angels. He has previously cited Suge Knight, a reputed Bloods gang member and co-founder of Death Row Records, as his role model. Although his reputation as a meticulous and often violent criminal precedes him, he denies involvement in any criminal enterprises past or ongoing.

Markings
Kray is extensively tattooed with complete arm sleeves and a large tribal back-piece. His left nipple is pierced with a surgical-steel ring.
