Marathi is only official language in Maharashtra.Still Hindi is (unfortunately) wide spoken here.So i look ur gesture as demeaning the other languages of India.

I also wonder why Punjabi is official language inDelhi why so?If Punjabi can be why isnt Marathi and Tamil?

:Well, Punjabi is an official language of Delhi because a significant portion of the population is Punjabi. Also, historic Punjab used to border Delhi.
