Hi there

Thank you for your mail with the info regarding getting started on Wikipedia. The reason I got on and created an account was to update a page that is already on Wikipedia about myself, Professor Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela. I do not know who created the page initially, but would like to keep it up to date. I do not have a problem with my updates being proof read by anyone, the main aim is to make sure the page is reflective of my work and current since people searching for me find it first.

how can I go about archiving this

Thank you

regards PumlaGobodo-Madikizela (talk) 10:20, 18 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me. Why the article "Linda Valori" has been restored to the old version? The old version contains a lot of false information. The deleted version is simply the official version contained in Wikipedia Italy. Thank you.--Enrico Pupi (talk) 11:17, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

You presumably mean this edit? Please note that the changes had too many issues such as pov, invalid deletions, and unexplained revisions. The attempted changes replaced an article with a minimal number of references with an article which not only contained no references, but deleted other useful material such as the persondata and the categories. Therefore the revisions left the article in much worse shape than the existing version. However, it is agreed that "false information" or unreferenced content should be removed from the article and replaced by content which can be traced to references (that is, verifiable). Having reliable sources helps Wikipedia editors find out if articles contain "false information". Dl2000 (talk) 01:37, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear D12000 I can guarantee that the version of Enrico Pupi is the official. It's not 'just return false and fraudulent information on my life. I'm Linda. The real story is in Italian wikipedia. Please note the following:
1. Another editor wrote the previous version you object to; I only restored it because your version introduced more problems with respect to Wikipedia policy
2. Article rewrite was done tonight which removed much unsupported information. Content should now be limited to what could be referenced (see WP:V)
3. The Italian page is lacking in references, so much of the material cannot yet be included on the English Wikipedia, due to policies and practices such as WP:BLP, WP:CITE
4. Please read Wikipedia policies and practices such as WP:BLP, WP:CITE and especially WP:COI, preferably before editing and commenting further on this subject.

Dear Dl2000. "Italian musician and producer Tony Renis noted that Valori's voice was comparable to that of pop singer Anastacia" this is a personal and not objective view by Tony Renis, however, taken from an article by Repubblica.it that has been much criticized in italia for the false information. the parts of the article published on wiki Italy, not suited to the Statute of the encyclopedia, have already been removed. therefore what is currently contained in the article "Linda Values" on wiki Italy is confirmed. The objective and truthful content must be downloaded from this page. the correct year under the image of "linda" is 2013 not 2003! Thanks for update and refer to a wiki page in Italian. --Enrico Pupi (talk) 11:27, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I notice you corrected my editorial error in thinking that Wikipedia preferred the Month:Day: Year Format.

Recently I did a lot of (obviously unnecessary) minor editing changing all the dates in Misha B and her three singles Home Run, Do You Think of Me and Here's to Everything (Ooh La La) to that Month:day:Year format. Maybe I should change them all back ...is the a quick way to do that?Bodney (talk) 23:32, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Wikipedia editors for US articles (except military) prefer the mdy date format, most of the rest use dmy (or some may not be conscious, and will use both). Your error is understandable, and fortunately because it's a common problem, there is an easy fix. Your articles have all been aligned to dmy with some additional fixes. Have a good day! -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 01:34, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much. Bodney (talk) 01:50, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
And thanks to Ohconfucius for stepping in while I was on several hours wikibreak. The scripts mentioned are indeed recommended to help unify formats and other article elements. The X Factor article was unified based on it being a UK subject, therefore the US-oriented mdy conventions are not normally applied. Dl2000 (talk) 03:11, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Makes lots of sense to me :) ...I am a UK editor (writing about a UK artist) but who got confused about a (erroneous) preferred date format which I did not like. Love those scripts. Bodney (talk) 08:58, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hey DI2000, I re-wrote the Andy Hobsbawm page to clean up the flags. It was the first Wiki project that I've taken on and I thought everything was completed according to the guidelines. I noticed that you added a GB tag to the article. I assume this means that the reference dates should be in the British style and I was wondering if this is applicable on all articles. I just wanted to clear this up before I begin working on any other projects. Thanks for your insight. News Team Assemble [!!!] 04:51, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, all the spelling in an article about a British subject should be British spelling and all dates should be dmy. I'd just add that WP:MOSNUM allows for reference dates to be uniformly yyyy-mm-dd, if you're that way inclined, although some (like me) would prefer them to be dmy throughout. There's no need to be too strict in applying the formats, as this is a job that would otherwise be fastidious if it were not for automation. My advice would be to load up the scripts so that each conversion takes a second. Or you may tag an article with {{use dmy dates}} and/or {{use British English}}, and I or Dl2000 or someone else will come around eventually to straighten out the formats. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 08:34, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for clearing this up. I'll try to keep this in mind when I come across British subjects for proper format of their dates and spelling. News Team Assemble [!!!] 02:18, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
And thanks to Ohconfucius for replying while I was busy. Indeed, WP:TIES is applicable on many national topics. As for flags, some are cleanup flags which can be removed once the specified issues are resolved e.g. referencing improvements, cleanup, WP:NPOV, etc, then there are tags which should remain with the article even after conformance e.g. {{Use British English}}, {{Use dmy dates}}, etc. Each tag should have a documentation section to indicate the appropriate treatment. Hope this helps. Dl2000 (talk) 03:07, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello! You have posted something on my talk page about deviating from MOS in an article. Can you make it more clear about what is the issue with the article? -- Sriram Vikram (talk) 05:30, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Am sorry about that. I was working on an article when a seasoned wikipedian tagged that page with 'use mdy date'. So I thought mdy was the normal format used in wiki and changed it. [1] -- Sriram Vikram (talk) 08:02, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Just getting back on line for the reply... Ohconfucius has indeed fully replied on the specific MOS issue. However, the Wikipedia Manual of Style contains many topics to assist you with your article work and you may wish to take some time to review the various parts of the MOS. Happy editing... Someone has nominated Template:EngvarB for deletion. You might like to add your views to the discussion. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 10:45, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I see you deleted my contribution on this.

For the record, the fact that something went badly wrong during the tenure of office whose job it was to stop that thing going wrong, and on an enormous scale, seems to me to be a relevant biog. fact. You know, if someone is officially in charge of a dam and the dam bursts, isnt that kind of relevant? But there seems a great wish among the owners of Wiki to protect establishment figures like G. from any criticism, however well justified.

However, do not disturb yourself to reply to this message. I find Wiki far being the genuinely open, participatory system that it affects to be. I have found several times that the shadowy, self elected Wiki police come along and delete postings in ways that seem to me unjustified and there is no way ordinary folk can resist or appeal against such deletions. Well, amuse yourself, I shan't edit Wiki ever again. Unraed (talk) 16:51, 29 September 2013 (UTC)unraedReply

Hi Dl2000. Please explain your re-addition. There are no dates in the article, just years. --Leyo 21:05, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Please don't remove the dates maintenance template even though you may not see the point of it. Although there are currently no dates in the article, that does not preclude there being dates in the article at some point in the future. The template acts as a time stamp in the maintenance of all articles. Tagging will allow programmed maintenance of date formats going forward. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 03:04, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
A maintenance template just for the potential case of a future problem? Are you joking? --Leyo 11:23, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • In a sense, yes. No joke. This is the manual tagging phase, a prelude to the automatic maintenance phase. Sure that some articles may never have dates, but it'll be far simpler to aim to manually tag 100% of articles than leaving 2% untagged just because they don't have dates for now. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 14:15, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Category:Use dmy dates from October 2013: This system of tagging/categorisation is used as a status monitor of all articles that use dd mm yyyy date formats, and not as a clean up.
The above article does not fulfill this criterion. In addition, the name of the template does not reflect the purpose you describe. --Leyo 18:36, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
      • Just getting back after a few days of other activities... first, there are frequent cases where editors remove the date tag when removing another maintenance tag such as {{no footnotes}}, so the deletion of the dates tag could be assumed an accident that was part of the other edits, especially considering that the edit summary only indicated "ref". Also some editors are not aware that some templates such as {{use dmy dates}} are not issue templates and so are not removed, even if the article is consistent. Although dates may not currently be on the article, there may have been dates in the article in the past, but removed for various reasons e.g. deleting a ref due to deadlink, even though this is discouraged at WP:DEADLINK. Anyway, the template was restored because there was no stated justification for removing it, although removing {{no footnotes}} was obviously appropriate due to the added ref. Dl2000 (talk) 21:24, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Accidents such as the suspected false removal of the discussed tag do not happen to users with a six-digit amount of edits in Wikimedia projects like the two of us very often. ;-) BTW: The tag was added in a large edit. --Leyo 22:48, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Per your revision of a article for a Canadian made film, I ask you to clarify your reason based on this excerpt from the style guide:

Choice of format

All the dates in a given article should have the same format (day-month or month-day). However, for citations, see Wikipedia:Citing sources#Citation style. These requirements do not apply to dates in quotations or titles.

Articles on topics with strong ties to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the more common date format for that country (month-day for the US, except in military usage; day-month for most others; articles related to Canada may use either consistently).

The above clearly states that a article to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the more common date format. Which for Canada is a mix of ISO and dmy for short dates and mdy for long dates. I fail to see why so many editors think the ISO format is hard to comprehend, when it was designed and adopted to avoid confusing short date formats like dmy and mdy.Helmboy (talk) 03:51, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • The article is of a Canadian subject, and can indeed in theory be in either dmy or mdy format, per WP:MOSNUM. According to you, Canada uses "a mix of ISO and dmy for short dates and mdy for long dates". However, our convention is a usage that is deemed and not necessarily the one that you claim to be de facto. The use of yyyy-mm-dd dates within the reference section is not at issue as their use is not a requirement. It's not relevant in any event because dmy dates have been used from the beginning.

And when there is a disagreement as to the format to adopt in cases such as this where national ties does not apply, we defer to the format used by the first major contributor (see the earliest version available). -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 04:19, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

    • Helmboy, further to Ohconfucius, it would be best to give MOS:DATE a more careful re-reading. Your statement about Canada being a mix of ISO/dmy/mdy, besides being unverifiable, is directly contradicted by this excerpt from the MoS you've quoted above: "articles related to Canada may use either format consistently" Also note the acceptable formats table at WP:DATESNO where ISO is not the only listed valid reference format. Again, a bit more time reading through the MoS should clarify things. Dl2000 (talk) 05:01, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
      • For proof on what is used in Canada, please read the article referenced in the summary of the edit that you reverted - Date and time notation in Canada. And it still alludes me as to why certain people, organizations and governments refuse to make the move to a clearer and easier to understand short date format!? But then the US still mostly use non-metric redefined imperial measurements and the UK still use imperial miles. I mean no one's asking you to change your preferred Christian (dd Mmm yyyy) or business (Mmm dd, yyyy) derived long date format! PS, if Wikipedia can use ISO short dates in markup, why are a number of editors so stubborn to standardize on all article's short dates to ISO short dates for the sake of logic and conformity. Talk about confusing to a reader who reads articles from different sources.Helmboy (talk) 10:18, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I find it very frustrating that Wikipedia allows changes to its site with unverified information. I would like to point out that I have tried a few times to correct the references over the years but there seems to be someone that wants to have fun at your expense by adding aircraft to the company that are not operated. Seemingly there are very small minds out there that get a kick out of changing things and having a laugh at other peoples expense!

The company Golden Eagle Airlines finished operations in the north of WA in June 2013 by handing back the company RPT AOC. The company has NOT gone into liquidation or made insolvent, it just ceased business. I am sure you are interested in portraying TRUTH when it is pointed out and hope that you will act professionally in the response to this message. Hello DI2000, thanks for your nice way of reminding me :) The case with the sentence I removed from Badr Haris page is as following: He is a former K-1 Heavyweight champion (2007—2008)[5] and K-1 World Grand Prix 2009 finalist

"...is a former K-1 Heavyweight champion (2007-2008)[5]..."

This is unfortunately not true. I also read the reference [5], but this is only an article of a dutch magazine. It says "Politie zoekt K1-kampioen" meaning: "Police is searching for K1 champion"

Whatever, he never was K1 Heavyweight champion. In 2007 Semmy Schilt won against Peter Aerts and became 2007 K-1 Heavyweight champion. In 2008, Badr Hari was finalist and fought against Remy Bonjasky, however he kicked Remy Bonjasky illegaly and was disqualified. In 2009 he was again finalist and lost against Semmy Schilt.

Hi, ignoring MOSTIES for a moment, is there any other reason why you keep doing things like this? There is, for example, no Indian English dictionary or work of grammar and there is a long tradition of using British English because it was the darn Brits who introduced the language to that country (and they only left in 1947).

There have been some discussions about this particular type of tagging and they've never really come out strongly for or against ... but it is irksome. - Sitush (talk) 00:04, 9 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

There are in fact some dictionaries and usage works involving Indian English (Oxford U Press, Sound System, INDUS/Harper Collins, etc). There is the Indian English article, although it does indicate some uncertainties regarding general English usage patterns in India. Perhaps if consensus is available, {{EngvarB}} could be preferable to {{Use Indian English}}? However, MOS:TIES does have consensus, and keeping track of English variants is a reasonable logical conclusion from that; not sure why it would be irksome to support that. Dl2000 (talk) 01:52, 9 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Dithering Davie was not a nickname generally prescribed to Moyes by Everton fans, it was a criticism raised over some specific incidents where transfer dealings were drawn out & protracted. Hi, regarding this, I don't think the article contains dmy dates at this point, but I wanted to check with you in case I'm not fully understanding the template's use/purpose. Thanks! — TAnthonyTalk 03:30, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Another editor set up the tag some time ago. It was restored since it is a type of tag which should not be normally deleted without MoS reason. If the article doesn't have the format "at this point", then changes may have been made since the tag was applied which might be contrary to MOS:DATE. The article also doesn't seem to have a strong national tie (e.g. US) that would warrant conversion to mdy. You could check with the tagging editor and/or article talk. Dl2000 (talk) 04:10, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah it appears to have been originally introduced here but as far as I can tell there were no extended dates (beyond year) of any kind in the article then or since, at least until I started working on it this week LOL. I'm fine with leaving the template there though if you think it serves a purpose, I'm just getting back into regular editing after a couple of years away and I honestly had not seen that template before. Thanks!— TAnthonyTalk 04:43, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
It was introduced a few years ago, probably about the time you ceased to be active on the project. It's a part of WP:DATESPROJECT. In addition, you might like to check out the template documentation. People seem to misunderstand what it's about notwithstanding and I'd welcome comments on how to improve its clarity. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 04:58, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
The documentation seems perfectly clear, I think I was more confused because I'm wasn't sure why the article in question was tagged at all because it didn't include any extended dates. But it is about a literary genre and discusses an international selection of authors (though I think most are American at this point) so I suppose it was a preemptive move? The thing is, I overhauled the article and added over 23 citations this week (before that there were none) using the American date format since I'm American. Will this tag make a bot come along and change all of those to dmy? I have no problem with that in an of itself, but I'm not sure to which nation the article should have strongest ties. Maybe when I'm through I'll tally up the authors and see who wins LOL.— TAnthonyTalk 18:11, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
There is probably no strong national tie in the article in MOS:DATE parlance. Maybe check with Tony1 who did the original tagging - he might support removing the tag or perhaps indicate if he noticed a date pattern earlier in the article development. I can let this one go and get on with things, especially if you both (and maybe Ohconfucius) achieve a consensus. Dl2000 (talk) 00:17, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

This was the first time I had used the 'GOCE in use' tag and it was because someone else said they didn't realise I was doing a major copyedit and I should use it. All very confusing. Just wanted to say sorry for any inconvenience caused by the tag. Any suggestions accepted with gratitude :-) Kind regards, Myrtle. Myrtlegroggins (talk) 11:36, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Division of labour. This is much appreciated, but unfortunately your repair was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. Purely an FYI -- it looks like the Chinese stuff had been added twice. (I should look myself to make sure!) Thanks.S. Rich (talk) 05:17, 30 November 2013 (UTC)05:23, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Noted - also, the vandalism was added by different IP addresses, which probably doesn't help matters, and rollback would also only have taken out one of those edits. Dl2000 (talk) 05:31, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've just seen that you've just removed the redirect on the article "Italian Society of Authors and Publishers"

ow we have two articles with the same content:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_Society_of_Authors_and_Publishers

and

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siae

The proper and original name is Società Italiana degli Autori e degli Editori (SIAE), and everybody in Italy know this Statutary corporation with its acronym SIAE (nobody knows what Italian_Society_of_Authors_and_Publishers stands for).

SIAE is the correct name for the article, let mw know what you think about this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumbodoren (talkcontribs) 14:35, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Actually, article namings should follow Wikipedia guidelines such as WP:NC and WP:MOS, not arbitrary notions of what "everybody in Italy know". Now SIAE seems a reasonable title, but it should probably have some further discussion before fixing the article title. WP:RM would be the appropriate place to raise any special page move requests. This is verifiable from Tasmanian newspapers but unfortunately people now have to pay for content. There was a reference on Google and it may have been appropriate for you to have done a google search before removing the date of death. I'm not criticizing you, as I realize you are probably busy in your role as a page patroller and did not have the time to check. There are entries on the Tributes page, which has to be paid for after a certain time. The online newspaper Tasmanian Times has a reference by the President of the Proportional Representation Society of Australia, and it is a very nice obituary, but it is at the bottom of another article. This is referenced, as you requested. Tasmania is a small island, and although Robson is a very significant figure he has not been a parliamentarian for some years and people forget. The Launceston Examiner ran details of his death on page 2 the following day, but because of a pay wall it is not possible to access it. Do you have similar problems in Canada? Robson is a significant but unrecognized figure in Australian politics in that "Robson Rotation," where the names of candidates are rotated on ballot papers, is named after him. Robson Rotation (and there is an entry to it in Wikipedia) is used in the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmanian elections.121.220.122.81 (talk) 10:07, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

For the previous edit, as my reverting edit summary indicated, there was no reference or explanation provided, and I did a news search for which "no obit found" at that time, although sources did become accessible since then and the obit sourcing is now in order. Claims of death do need to be supported by a source (WP:V, WP:BLP), and offline or inaccessible sources can be considered acceptable (WP:RS, WP:DEADLINK). Newspaper paywalls seem to be a problem globally. Dl2000 (talk) 22:52, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a bunch for your completely pointless deletion of my recent addition to this article. There seemed to be a temporary fault which prevented me from adding the reference and I was intending on going back to add it later. Your remark that this was likely to get me thrown off Wikipedia was completely unnecessary & if you had bothered to check you would have seen that I not only started this article but have contributed a large amount of its content, which has been added to by others. You really need to be a bit less bombastic in your comments as this is very negative and makes people not want to contribute. Try reading some of the guidance and ask yourself if you are really the sort of person the project is looking for Thanks--Godwhale (talk) 08:52, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunate you feel this way, but WP:V is policy and it is not pointless to apply that, especially 20 hours afterwards. Also not sure what sort of "fault" could possibly allow addition of prose text but prevent addition of reference text. Anyway, if you have the refs handy, you can try again, noting to keep prose compatible with other policies like WP:NPOV. Meanhile, would something like this more on the positive and less on the bombastic side? Dl2000 (talk) 05:29, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have GOT to be joking. I only rearranged the already existing information to fit with the standard layout of artist pages. I did not add nor delete a single thing. Since you want to pointlessly delete and undo perfectly reasonable changes, learn how to build a page yourself. Absolutely ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FaceOffTournament (talkcontribs) 05:13, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your revision took out three references (from 29 to 26), so there was more than a rearrangement going on. An edit summary might also have helped. Dl2000 (talk) 05:37, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

And you really undid the changes instead of simply adding those (mostly unneeded) references back yourself? You're a complete genius. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FaceOffTournament (talkcontribs) 05:39, 21 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I request you to remove the page Bollywood 100 Crore Club/Bollywood films grossing above 100 crore from your merger proposal since according to the latest discussions (see end part) a complete makeover to the article has been proposed and the new structure can be seen here. It contains no list of films or actress and is a proper encyclopaedic article on what Bollywood 100 Crore Club actually is nothing else. Since the above mentioned article is part of both and AFD and a merger proposal, it will be difficult or unwise to make such large changes. So I request you to remove Bollywood 100 Crore Club from the list of mergers since you are the proposer. Please reply. Regards. - Jayadevp13 03:15, 31 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi I made the changes as it is important that my wiki reflects what I'm currently doing. I understand what you're saying about dates. I don't know who started the page but the facts were out of date. Can you help with one thing? How do I make the new page come up when you google my name? As it currently has in google on right hand side of the page the old one 'she appeared in a topless scene' It is very important to me that this no longer comes up as it is not professional and irrelevant to that TV program as I was 17 at the time of filming. I have lost the Alton from my professional name so was hoping to change that on wiki also. I've reinstated the date of death, based on an Art South Africa announcement (Twitter/Facebook), and a compelling variety of tributes to him on such sites as Facebook and Twitter. For Wikipedia purposes, we need to have reliable sources such as obituaries from media outlets. Facebook and Twitter postings are often considered less reliable sources. Proper referencing is needed because unfortunately there are occasional cases where a false death report is entered e.g. Bertrand Meyer#Wikipedia hoax. Finally, my condolences. Hello, I removed the template, because I checked the Duplicate Detector report and it's empty apart from the template itself, which means that there are no matches between the article's text and the book... at least, not anymore. What I see is:

"Downloaded document from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jindalee_Operational_Radar_Network (109787 characters, 3125 words) Downloaded document from http://books.google.com.au/books?id=qM0uxPH8RasC&pg=PA184&lpg=PA184&dq=180+degree+JORN+laverton&source=bl&ots=46i7DxALw4&sig=EAPxPAmszJdjNBJhy4VLA9yZSaE&hl=en&sa=X&ei=HIfSUrzoAYmAiQfEkYDwCA&ved=0CDUQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=180%20degree%20JORN%20laverton&f=false (59703 characters, 214 words) Total match candidates found: 10 (before eliminating redundant matches)

Matched phrases:

article or section may have been copied and pasted from http books google com au books id qm0uxph8rasc pg pa184 lpg pa184 dq 180 degree jorn

find in a library all sellers 0 reviews write review http books google com au books about the armed forces html id qm0uxph8rasc the armed forces (6 words, 30 characters)

Matching phrases found: 1"

Have you checked it and found it not like this? Or you did not read that it says: "....article or section may have been copied and pasted from http books google com au books id..." and clearly refers to the template itself? And, since you assumed bad faith of me, I wonder what I should assume of you... "tagvand?". I will revert you. Heracletus (talk) 04:31, 29 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

The duplicate detector actually starts with this disclaimer:

Warning: Duplication Detector may in some cases give no results or incomplete results. This does not necessarily indicate copying has not occurred. Manually examine the source document to verify.

So... manually examining the Google book page (which is in image form, not easily compared with text content)... the book page starts with "As a consequence..." at the top. The 4th para of Jindalee Operational Radar Network#JORN section also starts with the same phrase and mostly matches from there, apart from a few formattings. So, have you manually checked it (as the Duplicate Detector clearly advises) and found it not like this? Dl2000 (talk) 04:58, 29 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
You are right. I was wrong. Sorry. Usually the duplicate detector does a good job with online material, however, as this is a book and its pages are provided in that google form, it can probably not access them. Again, you're right and I reverted. Heracletus (talk) 13:31, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

== You wrote: Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Jonathan Self. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 23:06, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

My reply: There is nothing controversial about the fact that Jonathan Self and his third wife, Marianne Van Pelt, are currently married. The NYT article referenced (which you read) states: "'I’d come home when I met Jonathan, but also like I was undertaking a grand adventure,' Ms. Van Pelt wrote in an e-mail message just after the event. 'We’ve just said our vows in the strange little registry office in Gibraltar — we both cried!' The NYT article makes clear that there was a celebration of their marriage where they first met, not that a marriage service was performed. The detail about the meeting is in the referenced article and is superfluous to the article, since it is sufficient to note that Mr. Self has had two previous marriages and is currently married to Mrs. Van Pelt, with their domicile in Ireland. Please specify what you consider sufficient documentation of Mr. Self's marital status before performing further edits on this article. Please do not edit the article without confirming the status of the references provided, or providing other citations. JCvP 23:32, 22 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jvpwiki (talkcontribs)

You wrote: Not suggesting at all that Self and Van Pelt have split, nor does the current version of the article. Mention of a divorce or other sepasration would indeed require another reference. However, there were a few problems with the text you were restoring. For example, on what basis could they have a celebration at Grand Central in July 2009 when the available reference (NYT) was published months earlier (in January 2009)? Also, you were restoring a statement that they were living at Dromberg House, Ireland - this is not mentioned in the NYT article, which instead indicated they were living in Millbrook, NY as of September 2007. Generally, you need to ensure that details are accurately supported by references, especially under the WP:BLP policy. Meanwhile, names and details of previous spouses and children could be restored provided that new references are found to support these (they weren't mentioned in the NYT piece). Dl2000 (talk) 00:01, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

My reply: Thank you for your good corrections and for spurring me to strip out unnecessary and imprecise detail. As you suggest, I will seek additional documentation for unreferenced family configurations, which were provided by the subject when he wrote about himself to create the article. Whether or not he and his present wife become divorced is in the realm of possibility rather than fact and seems superfluous until it becomes a fact. People split and reconcile now and then, without being tracked in Wikipedia, and thus that detail seems superfluous to an article of this size and minor notability. Thank you again for improving the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jvpwiki (talkcontribs) 00:20, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I'm curious about this edit, which restored some inappropriate bold to the article (Visual Display Unit doesn't actually point at that article, so it shouldn't be bolded, and in any case bolding outside of the lead is very rarely appropriate). Can you elaborate? My inclination is to move those bolded definitions to the lead where they belong, de-bolding the one which isn't a link target. Your point is indeed valid, the terms should not be in bold after checking with MOS:BOLD, my bad. Therefore Computer terminal was corrected accordingly and quotations restored. Dl2000 (talk) 03:11, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, could you please restore the changes made to Felix Riebl wiki page today on the 1st of March 2014. These changes are valid and come from the artist's management. If you require further proofs, please ask before restoring pages to its older & inaccurate content. Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Digital2social (talkcontribs) 02:04, 1 March 2014 (UTC) Digital2social (talk) 07:30, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi DI2000, I'm not quite sure why this is happening. A page that I updated this morning, twice, has now been removed and redirected to another page. The info on the page worked on this morning are accurate, how come Wikipedia's contributors have permissions to delete/remove/redirect them? Digital2social (talk) 06:17, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have restored the page and added references, let me know if this is ok to keep or if more is needed. Thanks very much Kind regards. Digital2social (talk) 06:46, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

What if the content put on wikipedia is not accurate and that the person under the name this content is written under wants to remove the content? We are not talking "promotion", we are talking about having wikipedia being accurate about the info it displays, especially when it is under someone's name. This can cause serious prejudice when the info cited in a wiki page is no accurate. thanks for letting me know. Digital2social (talk) 22:49, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi DI2000, I've contacted wiki help and would appreciate you stop harassing this page. The content in the page needs to be updated for valid reason, not for promotion reason (as per what you have judged it to be, and wrongly so) Freedom of expression is important, and accuracy of content is equally important especially when under someone's name. The older version was obviously meeting wiki requirements as it has been live for years - telling us now it wasn't would be rather strange. We shall seek further assistance from more experience wiki volunteers at their help centre so that the content of that page can soon respect the privacy of this individual. kind regards. Birthdate was updated and Picture removed per Andy Kim. He has no idea who started this page, would rather not have it on Wikipedia and would like to have it removed ESPECIALLY when his edits are not allowed. We can check further on how to do this. I am not an editor of Wikipedia nor do I wish to be but you MUST honor what the Artist wants done on a page that describes only him. Thank you... BetBytes (talk) 02:05, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've already reached out to the community for consistency on the WP:MMABOX. Feedback would be appreciated to the discussion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Mixed_martial_arts#Further_standardization_of_WP:MMABOX. Once it's finalized I'll make sure that all of them do follow the standard. Thank you for your assistance.Dstrange (talk) 03:12, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey there,

I've made some recent edits regarding your last removal because of Copyright etc, etc.

I'm just wondering if the new edits that I've made are correct as I have no linked in anything that is not already linked in the article and what not.

Would love some insight on this as I'm new to Wikipedia and would love to get this information out there.
