Wikipedia:Requests for history merge - Wikipedia
Article Images
This page is used for listing requests for history merges or history splitting of pages. For relatively simple cases where history merge is required, the destination page should be tagged with the {{histmerge}} template. This page should be used for requesting very complex merges, merges involving more than two pages, history merges of deleted pages, or when the use of the template is otherwise inadequate or where its usage would cause problems.
This page was originally for listing cut-and-paste moves which could not be repaired due to a then-extant technical limitation. The limitation has since been removed, but this page is still available if you find a cut-and-paste move, and are not able to repair it yourself (there is a procedure for doing it, but only administrators can do it, and it is a bit tricky!).
Administrators need to read Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Fixing cut-and-paste moves and Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions.
- If the issue is clear-cut (straight-forward cut-and-paste move(s) to a different title), place a
{{histmerge|NAME OF PAGE THE ARTICLE WAS CUT FROM}}
template at the new location of the article which has been moved through cut and pasting, i.e. on the article where the pasting was done. - In more complex cases (explained at Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves), please leave a description of the problem under the "Repair requests" section. An administrator will look over the pages and perform whatever tasks are necessary and update the request.
- Tasks that have been completed or do not need further discussion will be removed.
Please add new requests to the top of the New Requests section.

- The history of 2048 needs both a split to AD 2048 and a merge from 2048 (disambiguation). Please do the following:
- Delete "2048" and then restore all of its edits from 2020 and earlier.
- Move "2048" to "AD 2048", deleting the existing target redirect in the way. Also, move Talk:2048 to Talk:AD 2048. Do both moves without leaving redirects behind.
- Restore the edits for "2048" from this year (2021).
- Finally, merge the October 2020 edits from 2048 (disambiguation) to 2048. There is some sufficient similarity between revisions 983122675 and 1003552006.

- Would someone please check to see if there is any once-deleted talk-page discussion for Talk:Martin Rundkvist? The page was created in April 2008; deleted in May 2008; restored in January 2020; deleted in March 2020; restored again in February 2021; and promoted to good-article status today. The talk page, however, contains only those discussions from January 2020 onwards, and one of the editors who was around during the 2008 discussions believes that there were posts then too. - @Usernameunique: At 01:25, 14 March 2020 User:CactusWriter moved page Talk:Martin Rundkvist to User talk:Usernameunique/Martin Rundkvist without leaving a redirect.
- At 22:18, 6 February 2021 User:Usernameunique moved page User talk:Usernameunique/Martin Rundkvist to Talk:Martin Rundkvist
- At 07:10, 29 February 2020 User:Usernameunique moved page User talk:Usernameunique/Martin Rundkvist to User talk:Martin Rundkvist

- Thanks, Anthony Appleyard. Is there any history of the page from 2008? --Usernameunique (talk) 08:04, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Basit Ahmed Bhat history-merge request
- @Kashmorwiki, Mario Urbaneja, Dan arndt, and KylieTastic:
- At 06:10, 17 March 2021 User:Kashmorwiki requested histmerge between Draft:Basit Ahmed Bhat (Footballer) (= "the draft") and Basit Ahmed Bhat (= "the article").
- In time/date order:
- User:Kashmorwiki :: his edits in "the article" are after his edits in "the draft", as to be expected in a draft page and a permanent page, and there seems to be a cut-and-paste event between these two serieses of edits, see this diff: that seems to an opportunity for history-merging..
- User:Mario Urbaneja :: his edits in "the article" are before his edits in "the draft", the opposite order than would be expected in a draft page and a permanent page.

- There was a duplicate draft by the same name. Thats why I requested for a merge. Did I do the wrong procedure.? Please clarify whats actually happening here? Im in this place for the first time. Regards Kichu🐘 Need any help? 13:47, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- @Kashmorwiki, Mario Urbaneja, Dan arndt, and KylieTastic:I have history-merged Draft:Basit Ahmed Bhat (Footballer) (except its last 2 edits) into Basit Ahmed Bhat where it all fits into a continuity gap in the editing history. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 14:17, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
