Which is the appropriate approach to take? My own view is that unless 1 or 2 applies, then the nationality ~~could~~must be clarified, even if some reliable sources are specific. For example, it could misleading the reader say AAA is a Japanese Jazz Band, (based on an entertainment website) if the saxophonist is Canadian.
