So, why do I support deprecation of the IEC unit system? Simple: the system is not used. It's not even used by a significant minority. The only reason I started reading this debate in the first place is because I wanted to find out what IEC units were. I've never heard of them before. And, judging by most of the comments above, very few people outside of this discussion have.
