== Assassination ==

On January 15, 2020, Yusuf Deedat was [[Assassination|assassinated]] outside the [[Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal|Verulam]] City Court in northern Durban, South Africa, after an unknown assailant shot him in the head. He was admitted to the [[Intensive care medicine|intensive care unit]] at St. Anne's Local Hospital, where he died on the evening of January 17, 2020.
