Nick-D,

Many thanks for your kind welcome... Delayed reply/response due to my security duties/obligations 'exploding' onto my agenda recently... Was interrupted on trying to correct some items re Battle of Hue/Tet'68 when I went to find my documents & other items for citing...

Wonder w/whom I ought to talk regarding things on battle relating to me as major participant and how that gets cited/referenced... E.g., there is inadequate identification of General LaHue and I am trying to correct that... It's something I know off top of my head as he was our TFX commander under whom we were working in the battle... I can do it immediately but if I have to locate the Task-Force Xray After Action Report to put in a reference and can't readily find it (it's there on a CD I have to relocate), then it's a challenge... I'd like to discuss w/someone that aspect of referencing items... Many TIA for any guidance...

With best regards

After many fits/starts & other challenges, now back to active status in Military History Project, Viet Nam War. Due to challenges w/hands, unwitting typos may occur, tho every effort will be made to catch/correct them.

At this time I am preparing to work on additions & corrections to Battle of Hué, Têt 1968. As S-2 at opening of battle, then C.O. Bravo Co., 1st Bn, 1st Marines, and then intimately involved in reviewing and correcting 1st Marines (Reinforced) After Action Report, I am among those uniquely qualified to do this.

Also, will be working on item/article to publish on loss of Marine, KIA/BNR, off western end of Hill 881S outpost complex and current DPAA efforts to find & repatriate remains. I was the final Hill Commander of what had been a half-battalion position. This NOT being done as 'memoir' but as factual article on a major event in the closing of 'The End of "The Line"' (McNamara's Line, the 'end' being Khe Sanh) on 6 July 1968. Platoon members of 1st Platoon, Bravo Co. are involved in preparing the facts. 1st Bn, 1st Marines (1/1) was the last Marine maneuver element to leave after the combat base was disassembled, demolished, & closed.

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the coord team. Cheers, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 1 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
