Hello, Dr. Anirban Mukherjee, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

{{Help me}} :Hello, @Dl2000, thanks for your suggestions and I appreciate the service you are providing to the community. This is the very first time I am editing Wikipedia and would require help from experienced people like you. However, let me clear my objective.

Objective: First of all, let me make it clear that the article was not at all modified with any intention of promotion. The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is Govt. of India initiative to bridge the digital divide by offering free and equitable access to education to people. Like Wikipedia, NDLI is also trying make information freely accessible by the community. Everybody is not so privileged to afford paid knowledge and information. Previously this article had meager and outdated information therefore, I edited the article with more up to date information. It was intended to provide a comprehensive idea of NDLI and the services it provides so that more and more people can take advantage of it.
This is my earnest request to please review the article if you get a chance to make it at par with the community standard. The only request is please do not remove any major information from the article. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page National Digital Library of India has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 19:49, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to National Digital Library of India, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 19:49, 25 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Mean as custard (talk) 16:36, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have already been warned about inaccurate and misleading edit summaries. I repeat the warning following your latest edit. . .Mean as custard (talk) 16:48, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mean as custard I am again telling you editing doesn't mean removal of latest information and adding wrong information. You are doing injustice to readers by providing them with old, outdated, and wrong information. NDLI is a partner of Wikimedia and I will escalate the issue with that proper channel. Please clarify your connection, if any, with the National Digital Library of India, in other words do you have a conflict of interest with the subject of the article? . . Mean as custard (talk) 16:54, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mean as custard Like other citizens of India I am a user of the library from very beginning and don't have any conflict of interest. However what you are doing is not a good practice. Dr. Anirban Mukherjee (talk) 17:05, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Then you are not the [Anirban Mukherjee] who is Chief Project Executive at the National Digital Library of India? . . Mean as custard (talk) 18:14, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Mean as custard No. Do you have any personal vendetta? What is your problem? If you feel like doing some editing then do it properly. Instead of that you are reverting the entire article to an old age version with tons of age-old and junk information. Things have changed a lot. NDLI is an initiative taken by Govt. of India to provide the service free of cost to all citizens of India so NDLI is not made for profit and doesn't require any promotion. This is made from the money of public tax for the public welfare. Keeping up to date information on wiki will help people from the economically weaker section to get detailed information about it and use it for free.   Hi Dr. Anirban Mukherjee! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war.
