Please don't interpret a reversion or warning on my part as a personal attack on you; it's not. Please bring any error to my attention as I am always open to civil discussion. (I will respond here on my talk page unless you request otherwise.) No worries, mate. Geoff

I do have one question, which is related to the county tables on election pages. I have figured out how to do them in the way that matches all of the other ones, though I feel like it takes a while. Besides the traditional way of adding data, then source editing, is there any way to do it quicker that you know of? Please let me know. --Zeusisloose417 (talk) 22:06, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Zeusisloose417: I know of no better way as I've always done it by hand, starting with the table insert button in the source editor. I recommend you use the help guides to see if you can gain some insights. Have a look at: Help:Table#Automated assistants (as well as the whole help article), Help:Introduction to tables with Wiki Markup/1 and the many links to other help articles at the top of the help article. You can also ask the group of experienced volunteers at the Teahouse: Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cheers! Geoff | Who, me? 23:26, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello sir, please guide me to make necessary changes in my recent article to make it available publically --Majistareirter (talk) 20:15, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Majistareiter: Please thoroughly read all the notices on your user account Talk page, User_talk:Majistareirter, as your questions are answered there. Your draft article, Draft:Harsh Satyanarayan Dhage, was reviewed and rejected for the reasons listed in the reviewer's notes. Your attempt to use your user page to publish an article was quickly and summarily deleted, as user account pages are not for publishing articles. Slow down and carefully consider the advices you have been offered. Geoff | Who, me? 20:48, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm doing more in depth edits of the page Epithemia (algal taxon that I have a lot of knowledge in) and there's taxonomic dispute of what belongs in Epithemia. Some scientists have adopted new taxonomy and others haven't. Is there an established way to work on listing species, but noting which ones are disputed as part of the genus (e.g. Epithemia gibberula, prev. Rhopalodia gibberula) or something? Thanks! --Cyanochic (talk) 15:32, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Cyanochic: Welcome to Wikipedia! Well, you could note the taxonomic dispute in each article where it applies, citing the conflicting journals, or start a discussion on the Epithemia talk page, but my guess is that you'll get more traction on the general question by discussing the relative positions reflected by current journals on the Project Algae Talk page. I see you are a member of the project. I know of no other established ways to work on listing species' taxonomies than either article-by-article or through the project. Cheers! Ko aung lwin --Ko aung lwin (talk) 14:11, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Ko aung Iwin: Did you have a specific question? If using the source editor seems too difficult to start with, you might try using the visual editor: Help:Introduction_to_editing_with_VisualEditor/1. Geoff | Who, me? 14:18, 23 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, my message find you well, I have a question. It is that I want to open a crowd website Can you help me regarding that --Ainullahwahaj (talk) 15:30, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Ainullahwahaj: The only thing I know about the defunct website Rabb.it is in the Wikipedia article you mentioned. I assume you know that Wikipedia itself is not the place to open a crowd website, so you will have to search out web hosts on your own. Did you have a question about how Wikipedia works? Geoff | Who, me? 15:40, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Glane23,

I want to clarify my statement. I will get paid by Georgia Tech whether I write this article or not. I'm not paid directly for writing this article. In my position, I feel it is appropriate to write it and I have the knowledge to share this information. I gain nothing monetarily from writing this article. I work for a public institution. I am paid by Georgia Tech, but not to write this article. If this still makes me a paid contributor, let me know.

Best regards, Monique Waddell (talk) 13:04, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Monique Waddell: Yes, as I've posted on the draft article Talk page, editing on behalf of your employer is paid editing which must be disclosed, whether you are specifically paid to edit the article or not. The subject of the article is an employee of Georgia Tech, so that you have a clear conflict of interest when writing about a fellow employee and, since you are paid by the organization, you are acting within the scope of your employment when editing the article about Mr. Walker per Wikipedia's Terms of Use. Geoff | Who, me? 13:22, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thank you, then yes. I am a paid contributor, for sure. Monique Waddell (talk) 13:44, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This looks exciting community. And I'm suprised I join only now after having used Wikipedia so much :)

My intention to join was to help my good friend to add her daughter, a promising gymnast to create a page about her.

I created that initial page yesterday https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lia_Kallio but it got rejected almost immediately. Would it maybe help me to have the page created and published if I use an actual account instead of anonymous creation? This Lia Kallio is Finnish Gymnast and aiming for the next Olympics. She has already been awarded and recogniced a lot within her field. --Timoki (talk) 14:54, 4 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
