Mbale

Mbale is a district in Eastern Uganda.

Mbale is a coffee-growing area. It is also of interest as the location of a Jewish community, along with Christian and Muslim communities. There is a functioning synagogue in Mbale.

Buses to and from Kampala take 5 hours. The bus to Jinja takes 3 hours. The bus to Soroti takes 2 hours. There are also buses going to and from Nairobi, Kenya.

The Post bus goes to and from Kampala. get on and off the Post bus at the post office.

There are several bus companies which transport people to Mbale such as Y.Y Coaches, Kakise coaches, and Gate way. These buses are based in Kisenyi bus terminal, and Namayiba bus terminal in Kampala for people travelling from Kampala.

There also enroute taxis which transport people from Kampala to Mbale and from Mbale to Kampala.
