Account vanishing is one of the ways to indicate a permanent leave from Wikimedia project, similar to "close account" in some other websites. It may remove your (user)name from history of pages you edits, and much other personal information and discussions about user conduct.
- To preserve attribution, it is not possible to delete an account.
- Vanishing does not guarantee anonymity. Association may still be easily found in various ways.
- Even if vanish is intended to be permanent, it may still be reversed.
消える権利は、MeatBallで（MeatBall:RightToVanish参照）最初に提案されました。具体的に言えば、特定のプロジェクトを永久に離れる投稿者が、そのプロジェクト本来の使命とは関連しない貢献を除去してもらうことができるということです。
It is similar to the WikiMindWipe, but far less reaching. In the context of the Wikimedia Foundation, the term was first used on the English Wikipedia, where it became a customary courtesy before the formation of the Foundation. (See Wikipedia:Courtesy vanishing).
ENWPのように他の殆どのウィキメディアプロジェクトでは永久に去ろうとする利用者が「消滅する」ことを大目に見ています。この用語は「権利」や保障というよりも、去ろうとする大切な投稿者に拡大された好意であるという点で誤った名称です。投稿は取消不可の条件でライセンスするGFDLに基づいて行われるので、投稿者が投稿したコンテンツや原著作者の表示を削除する法律上あるいは契約上の根拠は存在しません。
- 利用者名 - 利用者名は通常削除できませんが、変更されることはありえます。たとえ変更が行われても、新旧の利用者名を紐付けることはおそらく最小限の手間でできてしまいます。
- プロジェクトにおける作業 - 自分の利用者ページとその会話ページを除く全ページにおける「署名」（コメント主を示す文言）を含め、作業の変更や削除は通常できません。こうしたものの変更は、崩壊の元になりえます。個人を識別できる情報を含む個々のページの個別の版は、代わりに特定版非表示にされることがあります。

プライバシー情報の削除
Definition of personal information: Information you provide us or information we collect from you that could be used to personally identify you. To be clear, while we do not necessarily collect all of the following types of information, we consider at least the following to be “personal information” if it is otherwise nonpublic and can be used to identify you:
- (a) your real name, address, phone number, email address, password, identification number on government-issued ID, IP address, user-agent information, credit card number;
- (b) when associated with one of the items in subsection (a), any sensitive data such as date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origins, marital or familial status, medical conditions or disabilities, political affiliation, and religion; and
- (c) any of the items in subsections (a) or (b) when associated with your user account.
- ウィキメディアプロジェクトでは管理上の理由（一般にサイトの悪用に限定される）において必要性がない限り、編集者と投稿者に関するプライバシー情報（利用者および会話ページ上のものである可能性が高い）を依頼により削除します。
- 百科事典項目と、そこに記載された人物に関するプライバシー情報は、「消滅する権利」の対象ではありません。その代わりに、伝記記事に関係する編集方針をご覧頂けますでしょうか。そこには編集上の指示や、不満な場合に取る行動について十分に詳しく記載されています。
代替手段
一般にプライバシー情報の公開を望まない場合には特定版非表示にすることで対処されます。公に知られている情報が十分悪名高く広まってしまっているために、特定版非表示が保護にならない場合には、消滅の必要はありません。
利用者名もしばしば変更され、広汎な条件と方法に従うことになります。
本名を使っていたり長年ペンネームを使っていたら、ウィキメディアプロジェクトでは上記のように自分の書いた全てがその名前、すなわち自分自身に紐付けられる可能性があります。しかし、ウィキメディアプロジェクトを去ると決めた場合、この関連性を弱めるために取ることのできる数段階の方法があります。
- 利用者名を他の名前に（自分と直接関係のないもの）変える。（Changing username参照）
- 以前の利用者名への参照を置き換えた利用者名への参照に変更します（自分でできる）。
- 現在の利用者ページと利用者会話サブページを削除します（管理者に連絡のこと）。
- 古いアカウントを利用して新しい利用者ページと利用者会話ページを作成し、ウィキメディアプロジェクトを去ったことを示し、自分の名前で触れないよう依頼する簡単なメモを含めます。
自分の行った編集や書き込みがその時点で使ったアカウントで履歴に現れることを忘れないでください。従ってログイン名の使用には注意を払い、そのアカウントと繋げられたくない名前でログインしている際には、いつものように古いページを訪れたり、いつも訪れていたページの編集をしないよう気をつけてください。
How to request a vanishing
If you wish to vanish, you can use one of the following methods to make your request:
- The best and fastest way is to visit Special:GlobalVanishRequest to access the vanish request interface. Requests made this way will be processed by global renamers or stewards.
- You may contact the global renamers via e-mail and ask that your account be renamed, giving "request for courtesy vanishing" as the subject. Please log in then use the contact interface at Special:EmailUser/Wikimedia Global-renamers or email renamers wikimedia org. If you send the mail directly, you must provide proof that the account is indeed yours.
Notes:
- Please be aware that all global renames are publicly logged, only the request details are private. A record of requests are kept and can be seen by current renamers, stewards, and Wikimedia Foundation staff.
- Courtesy vanishing is generally not available for users that are currently locked or blocked.
- ↑ What is deemed to be related to the vision of various projects is left to local discretion, but typically involves a project's informational content rather than its maintenance/administrative side.
