Space Decay

Space Decay^[1] is a theme in Metroid Prime Hunters. It was composed by Lawrence Schwedler.

It plays on Samus Aran's second visit to the Celestial Archives; when she enters the Docking Bay, Tetra Vista, and New Arrival Registration, rooms outside the general station that are damaged or otherwise open to space. After she obtains the Octolith from this section of the Celestial Archives, The Archives permanently replaces Space Decay. Space Decay is also available as track 29 in the Sound Test.

The theme is consists largely of quiet ambience, containing mysterious "alien" effects to evoke the space environment. The track also contains creaking sound effects, which give the unsettling feeling that this area of the Celestial Archives will collapse at any time.
