In 19.1 BBY, a hangar within the Jedi Temple was subjected to a bombing which saw the deaths of six Jedi as well as clone troopers and maintenance crew. It was suspected that Jackar Bowmani, a worker at the Temple was responsible, until it was discovered that his wife Letta Turmond, who fed nano-droids to her husband, was responsible for the explosion.

She later told Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, shortly after the former's arrest, that the one who planned the explosion was actually a disgruntled member of the Jedi Order, although she was killed via a Force choke before she could divulge the Jedi's identity, also leading to Tano's being framed for her death.

The reason for the bombing was attributed to the the growing mistrust of the population of the Republic for the Jedi Order.

It was later discovered by Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker that Barriss Offee had fallen to the dark side of the Force and that it was she who destroyed the Temple hangar. After a duel in the Temple itself, Offee was defeated and taken into custody.
