First Order Special Forces

The First Order Special Forces[9] were an elite unit of the First Order military. They used TIE/sf space superiority fighters[8] and reported directly to the upper ranks of First Order military hierarchy.[10]
Visual difference to normal TIE fighter pilots was that the Special Forces fighter pilots bore red flashes on their helmets,[4] like the flight barons of the Old Empire.[1] Some members of this group were composed of elite stormtroopers, who piloted elite speeder bikes. They were equipped with black stormtrooper armor, featuring two red stripes on the left side of the chest-plate, that matched up with the color scheme of their speeder bikes.[3]
A notable member of this force was Major Elrik Vonreg, who differed from other Special Forces pilots, as he wore all red armor, and flew a TIE/ba Baron Space Superiority Interceptor instead of a TIE/sf space superiority fighter.[2]
