Star Wars 16: Emissaries to Malastare, Part 4 is the sixteenth issue of Star Wars and the fourth part of the Emissaries to Malastare story arc. The comic was written by Timothy Truman, illustrated by Tom Lyle and Jan Duursema, and published through Dark Horse Comics on March 22, 2000.

As Lannik terrorists and Ffib priests prepare to wipe out half of the Jedi Council, the Jedi must ask themselves: is there any hope for peace, or was this a ruse all along? The answer lies somewhere among the rocky flats and methane pools of Malastare, but so does death, and for one of the team, life will never be the same again![1]

As half of the Jedi envoy fall, seemingly to their deaths, the others dive in for a quick rescue. Now aware of the Red Iaro treachery, the Jedi return to the palace, just in time. As they expected, the Lannik prince is being held hostage, and his captors have let a pair of ferocious akk dogs loose on him. While the Jedi incapacitate the dogs, the terrorist leader attempts to escape via jetpack, but is sucked into the engine of one of the podracers. Mace Windu, upset at the exploitation of the akks, which come from his homeworld of Haruun Kal, sets out to find the smugglers responsible.
