A playlist is a collection of videos. Anybody can make playlists, share them, and friends can add videos to your playlist.

You can go to the You tab to view all of your playlists. You can also manage your playlists in YouTube Studio.

If a video or channel’s audience is "made for kids" and you’re on a homepage, you can't add it to a playlist. You can still add content from search results into playlists.

Manage a playlist

Filter a playlist by video type

  1. Select the playlist you’d like to edit in the Guide.
  2. Choose the chip with the type of content you want to view in your playlist:
    1. All: Displays all content saved to the playlist.
    2. Shorts: Displays Shorts saved to the playlist. Note: This feature isn’t available for playlists that only contain YouTube Shorts.
    3. Videos: Displays long-form videos saved to the playlist.

Reorder a playlist

  • To reorder videos: Open the playlist and then Drag a video up or down the playlist.
  • To temporarily reorder videos: On the watch page's playlist panel, drag a video up or down the playlist.

Note: This feature isn’t available for playlists that only contain YouTube Shorts.

Hide videos

To temporarily hide videos:

Delete a playlist

  1. Tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap the playlist that you want to delete under the “Playlists" section.
  3. Tap Delete .
  4. Select DELETE.

Note: Your old playlist may continue to exist in viewers’ watch histories.

After you delete a playlist, the playlist URL and title will no longer be visible or searchable in YouTube Analytics. Data associated with the playlist, such as Watch time, will still be part of broader reports, but won't be attributed to the deleted playlist.
