Article Imagesభాస్వరం లేదా ఫాస్ఫరస్ (Phosphorus) ఒక మూలకము. దీని సంకేతము 'P', పరమాణు సంఖ్య 15. ఇది స్వేచ్ఛగా ప్రకృతిలో లభించదు. ఇతర మూలకాలతో కలిసివుంటుంది. జీవకణాలన్నింటి కేంద్రకామ్లాలు అయిన డి.ఎన్.ఎ., ఆర్.ఎన్.ఎ.లలో ఇది ఒక మూల పదార్ధం.దీని ఆర్థిక ప్రాముఖ్యతలో అతిముఖ్యమైనది ఎరువులు. ఇదే కాకుండా దీనిని పేలుడు పదార్ధాలు, అగ్గిపుల్లలు, మతాబులు, క్రిమిసంహారక మందులు, సబ్బులు మొదలైన వాటి తయారీలో ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.
సాధారణంగఅ భాస్వరం యొక్క సమ్మేళనాలు భూమిలో ఘనరూపంలో ఉంటాయి. ప్రకృతిలో ఇది సాధారణంగా ఫాస్ఫేట్ అయాన్ (Phosphate ion) లో ఒక భాగంగా ఉంటుంది. చాలా ఫాస్ఫేట్లు సముద్ర అవసాధనాలు (Sediments) లేదా రాళ్ళలో ఉండే లవణాల రూపంలో ఉంటాయి. కొన్ని భౌగోళిక ప్రక్రియల వలన సముద్ర అవసాధనాలు నేలపైకి వస్తాయి. వీటిని మొక్కలు గ్రహిస్తాయి. మొక్కల నుంచి ఫాస్ఫేట్లు జంతువుల్లోకి చేరతాయి. జీవులు చనిపోయిన తర్వాత తిరిగి నేలలోకి చేరతాయి. రాళ్ళు శిథిలమైనప్పుడు భౌమ ఫాస్ఫేట్లు తిరిగి సముద్రంలొకి చేరతాయి.
