HonestReporting was founded in October 2000 by Shaul Rosenblatt, founder and head of [[Aish Hatorah]]-United Kingdom in response to controversy over the [[Tuvia Grossman photograph]] at the outbreak of the [[Second Intifada]]. Within six weeks, HonestReporting had an email list of 10,000 volunteers to monitor the media and respond accordingly.
