It's possible to link the "talk page" text to the talk page of the user who is leaving the welcome message, but it'd make the template more complex.

As for the request to omit tildes, I set the "leave a message" link so that there would be an automatic signature on the last line of each message each message. There are too many people who type things in a hurry and forget to type ~~~~. Even the old-timers do it at times. However, uif you type the tildes in even on my page, it won't hurt, so just type them whenever you write something on a discussion page, it's fine. :) Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 11:14, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

If it's a single editor who's persistently removing the tags, leave the {{drmafd}} {{drmspeedy}} template on their discussion page for first timers, {{drmafd2}} {{drmspeedy2}} for second timers, and there's {{drmafd3}} {{drmspeedy3}} too. In urgent cases, find an admin who's been deleting pages - just pick someone whose name appears in the deletion log, and leave them a quick note. That'll overcome the speedy deletion tag removal problem most of the time. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 12:10, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't be surprised - some admins seem to consider professors notable because of their title. Shannon E. Hengen (AfD discussion) is an example. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 12:30, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was an admin until Sunday. I felt I was spending too much time on admin-related tasks, to the detriment of real-world duties, hence my relinquishing the status. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 12:52, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Wolf 104.7 radio station external link should not be in the casino article, it is not about the casino. It should only be in the stations article. Also, I'll probably delete the station from the attractions again in the near future. That heading is for attractions that attract people. A radio station would not qualify. That is a noteable item to include in the into and/or history section. As to the other external links, they should not be in every article. The MoS says to use internal links and not external ones. You only use external ones when there is no internal article and the external link adds something significant to the article. That's my rephrasing of what I understand the guidelines to be. Happy First Day of Summer!

A Beautiful Summer Field

Summer is a time for freshly grown fruits and vegetables.

Just wishing you a wonderful First Day of Summer 2008! Mifter (talk)

If you live in the Southern Hemisphere and are entering the season of Winter not Summer then I wish you a Happy First Day of Winter 2008!

Give this greeting to others by adding {{subst:First Day of Summer}} on their Talk Page.

Before I had even seen your comments on my Talk page, I had put up a WP:DRV notice and notified the deleting admin. Corvus cornixtalk 22:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
