This French book is notable in that it isn't an exhibition catalog, and hence has illustrations from a wide variety of sources. It is unusual in having architecture as one of it's major focuses, and has many striking photographs coupled with detailed diagrams. The other focuses are painting and sculpture; the "applied" arts of pottery, textiles and lacquer work are under-represented, especially in the illustrations. Less critically, there's no reference to specific images in the text itself.
I managed to read this from cover to cover with my high school French and the google translate app.
