gateway to this location

Which other place gives you an access to this remote one? Which is the typical starting point for someone climbing till that summit (Q207326)? We probably should have this new property to easily document this. Thierry Caro (talk) 18:07, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment@Fralambert: would this be a good idea? We might need something like this to have Infobox Aire protégée fully converted to Wikidata.

still resists. Thierry Caro (talk) 16:30, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]- Comment I don't know. You can have the same result with location (P276) with a qualifier sourcing circumstances (P1480) --> near (Q21818619). --Fralambert (talk) 20:20, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- @Fralambert: Don't you think this method would stretch things a bit too much? To say a – possibly huge – park is situated in a specfic small city, qualified as near (Q21818619) seems a bit unnatural in my opinion. Plus the idea that there is a flow of people moving from one point to another is lost to favor a purely geographical relation instead. The new property I suggest would be in the tree of Wikidata property related to transport (Q22984363). Plus overall I believe that in the tourist industry the concept of 'gateway' is established enough for us to have a dedicated property. What do you think? - Oppose. Very vague and even subjective (because it depends on your departure point). The tourist industry's concept of 'gateway' is indeed "established enough", but purely for promotional purposes, often not based on a meaningful geographic relationship. --P199 (talk) 18:56, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. The thing is we don't need everyone to agree which place is the gateway to another place. We just need to be able to say it is according to this or that magazine, website or guidebook. That it might be used for business is none of ours. We are storing established claims not necessarily undisputed ones. Thierry Caro (talk) 07:10, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
