Hello, Ahuskay. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

About a decade and a half ago you made an edit [1] to Algeria that gives 553 as the number of districts. I wonder: do you recall where that number came from? Various other Wikipedia pages say 547 or 548. I'm trying to figure out which is the right number.

Hey there, I honestly can't remember the source for that... I went ahead and checked FR-wiki as it's generally more detailed on Algeria, and they link to two dead links in the Ministry of Interior website... I found this instead: https://www.interieur.gov.dz/index.php/fr/collectivit%C3%A9s-territoriales/rechercher-une-collectivite-locale.html?start=1520 which does not give a specific number but does list all municipalities and districts.
