Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Digitalis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carder bee. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello Belbury, This is my only active account. I used to have one years ago, but I lost the habit of editing (as well as my login details). Now I have more free time, I have started editing again. Thanks for all your work on various plant species. If I could offer some small suggestions, it is to take a look at the Manual of Style (particularly MOS:LIFE) and these article guidelines at WP:WikiProject Plants. I made some minor fixes to Anthurium lentii as hints. Abductive (reasoning) 10:16, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I'm still finding my feet here, and I appreciate your advice on this.ArthurTheGardener (talk) 15:11, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great! If you have questions ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Plants. It's an active WikiProject, unlike most. Also, consider creating your articles directly, rather than through Articles for Creation. Your articles are good enough, and will appear at Wikipedia:WikiProject Plants/New article listing for the members to review. Abductive (reasoning) 20:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you: I've been unsure whether all the articles I've created were notable enough (I tend to toggle between botany and books/authors), and I haven't felt entirely confident publishing directly to mainspace until now (I did try once or twice, but made such a mess of the links that I went back to doing things the safe way). However, I'll take your suggestion on board. Thanks again for your help. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 07:19, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Abductive: I've tried moving my new page directly into mainspace, but i think I've made some kind of mistake with the title. I'd very much appreciate eyes on wikipedia:lupinus exaltatus, if you have a minute to look at it, to tell me what I've done wrong, and how to avoid it next time. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 08:11, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I moved it into Mainspace. I suspect that where you went wrong was selecting Wikipedia from the pulldown menu. What you wanted was (Article). Abductive (reasoning) 08:39, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for explaining this: the reason I've been submitting articles for scrutiny is largely because I keep cocking up the moving process! I'll try to do it properly next time. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 08:53, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Now I put a {{Db-g7}} tag on the remnants. Hopefully some admin will come along and delete them. To avoid the need for this in the future, just create your stub directly in Mainspace as follows: search for the species, or find or create a redlink for it. Suppose that you wanted to make a stub for Lupinus cosentinii next. There is a redlink for it in List of Lupinus species so you would just click on it there, and paste your text, edit it, and hit 'Publish page'. Abductive (reasoning) 09:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much: I appreciate the advice. Just to be sure I understand what you're saying, could I then cut and paste an article I've created in my sandbox and put it directly into mainspace without losing any of the links? (Sorry if I'm being thick here, but I seem to remember being told not to do this). ArthurTheGardener (talk) 12:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can put together your text in a sandbox, sure. I used build my stubs using Windows Notepad since it looks like Wikitext. Then I would search for the title, click on the redlink, and paste my text in there. As I got more experienced, I learned to double-check for typos, and to click 'Shw preview' to look for mistakes before hitting 'Publish page'. I think you may be remembering a prohibition against using cut-and-paste to WP:move an article, which loses the history in the process. Abductive (reasoning) 09:26, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
That might be it, thank you: I'll give it a try! ArthurTheGardener (talk) 11:56, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Excellent! Keep up the good work. Abductive (reasoning) 18:46, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
