Hello, JaneClawsten, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username CaroleHenson, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Marilyn Gayle Hoff, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn Gayle Hoff.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|CaroleHenson}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

CaroleHenson (talk) 14:45, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

As an FYI, I have also written Women in Red articles. The Afd process is good for fleshing out notability. For instance, I have made edits to save articles that have been nominated for deletion in the past. I am not sure that this would happen in this case - but as it stands it does not seem to meet notability requirements. If you know of awards that she has received or content that helps establish notability, it would be great if you could update the article. Feel free comments on the Afd discussion page regarding how you find her to be notable.–CaroleHenson (talk) 14:57, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Marilyn Gayle Hoff, to which you have significantly contributed, is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or if it should be deleted.

The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn Gayle Hoff until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

To customise your preferences for automated AfD notifications for articles to which you've significantly contributed (or to opt-out entirely), please visit the configuration page. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:02, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to Beccaynr, the article has been saved - I have withdrawn the nomination.–CaroleHenson (talk) 03:39, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you @CaroleHenson! This has been a useful discussion and I appreciate the thought you and @beccanyr put into this! :) JaneClawsten (talk) 16:10, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi JaneClawsten! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Adding images is definitely not "minor" edit in Wikipedia term. Graywalls (talk) 05:21, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Graywalls Thank you for pointing this out! I'll review the guidelines again before making any more edits. Sorry!! JaneClawsten (talk) 17:47, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

An article you recently created, Delfina Trujillo Garcia, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:55, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I was very happy to add Lupe Briseno's photo. I have 57 more photos to add for inductees into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame. In figuring out which photos to upload, I verified which inductees had wikipedia bio pages and which ones did not. If you are up for it, based on your expressed interests, I recommend that you add the following bios: Velveta Golightly-Howell, Geraldine Grimes, Rosalind "Bee" Harris, Anna Jo Garcia Haynes, Arlene Vigil Kramer, Sister Lydia Pena, Olibama Tushar, and Martha Urioste. Let me know how I can help. I do have the photos for them or can get the photos. PearlMerle (talk) 15:36, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

  Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

Hi @Ipigott, thanks for your message. If it's not too much trouble, could you let me know which articles? Also, are you evaluating based on when the page was created or when the article was moved into mainspace? I usually spend a few weeks on an article before I publish it, and if that doesn't count, I will change my practices. Thanks for your efforts! :)
