Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Éliphas Lévi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Kindly Ones (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:23, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I saw that you opened a number of talk page discussions about recent changes at People of Praise. As I just explained on talk there, I went ahead and reverted to an earlier, stable version of the page because I think there were enough substantive issues with the recently introduced content to warrant reverting it. It was probably a bit inelegant, but this way we can figure out which changes have consensus before re-adding. Marquardtika (talk) 02:10, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! It's interesting and gives me an opportunity to read about policies like WP:SYNTH that are new to me. Novellasyes (talk) 14:55, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Re. the discussion you opened at Talk:People of Praise#Coral Thiell (Part 2), you might consider making it a formal RFC. If you do that, then for each option outlined, I think you should put the actual text that is being proposed. I think after discussion plays out a bit, the options with the most traction will be clear, and then maybe there can be an RFC with the top two options, or something like that. I can help you set it up if you want. Also, some unsolicited advice. I think you have a lot of interesting things to say, but I think your comments will be better received if you stick to Wikipedia policy rather than personal commentary or anecdotes. Template:Wikipedia policies and guidelines is a good place to start. Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:No original research as well. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Marquardtika (talk) 03:34, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Marquardtika. Thank you! I appreciate the guidance. I will work on creating some proposed actual text for the options in a sandbox and let you know when it is ready to look at. Novellasyes (talk) 00:57, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Marquardtika. I've read this page: Wikipedia:Requests for comment including Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Request comment on articles, policies, or other non-user issues. I've started this sandbox to try to follow the directions there: User:Novellasyes/sandbox/Coral Thiell RFC. So far, the sandbox is my attempt to offer a neutral statement about what the dispute is about. Does that look about right? And if it does, I think the next step is to create some actual text that would be proposed for the competing options. If you think that the statement I wrote about what the controversy is about ( User:Novellasyes/sandbox/Coral Thiell RFC ) needs work, please feel free to edit it directly. Inasmuch as she's known not only for being a member of PoP but for her memoir, arguably this is enough to render her notable for wiki's purposes. Sure wheras a memoirist such as Susan Ray Schmidt has a few hundred Amazon reviewers and Theill, only a dozen. However, Theill's memoir combined with her appearances taped for broadcast in news segments, ought tgthr be enough for her to pass the wp:N hurdle, inMHO.--Hodgdon's secret garden (talk) 21:09, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks and I tend to agree. Also, thanks for your steadfast work on the pages over the last couple of weeks. Novellasyes (talk) 22:14, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hodgdon's secret garden...would you mind copying-and-pasting your comment above over here: Talk:People of Praise#Survey? Then other people who are sifting-and-winnowing their thoughts on this will get your perspective. I would do that myself (the copy-and-paste) but I don't think we're supposed to do things like that with people's talk page edits. Novellasyes (talk) 13:31, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
THANK YOU for the RfC, and for your perseverance in getting this right. It doesn't upset me that no one agrees with my viewpoint, but the RfC lets all the folks weigh in and come to an actual consensus. 17:40, 15 October 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Last1in (talkcontribs)

Thank you so much for your help on Heath Freeman! I am considering putting the article into mainspace. I think once it is there, there will be a sudden wave of fresh material added by interested editors. What do you think? Best, Thriley (talk) 03:35, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

thriley. Thanks! I hope people dig into editing it. I feel like all I really did was put in the background bio material (that I could find in RS). Novellasyes (talk) 13:01, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Please do not change article titles by making cut & paste moves. Follow the instructions at WP:Moving a page. Thanks, wbm1058 (talk) 16:31, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wbm1058. I really screwed that up and I'm so sorry. Is there something I can or should do to fix that? Novellasyes (talk) 17:02, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Administrator privileges are needed to fix it, by doing a WP:history merge. I did that for you. It's good now. – wbm1058 (talk) 17:06, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wbm1058, thank you and again my apologies for causing more work for an admin. Novellasyes (talk) 21:59, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Novellasyes! A few days ago I found this discussion that you started regarding possible SPAs back in 2021. The activity from one of the accounts mentioned there has continued into 2023. I would like to know if you think that there is a possible conflict of interest. It's so unusual that this account is basically doing nothing but writing positive things about one individual and topics that they are linked to. Would you agree? The Glam Rock Joseph Stalin (talk) 04:50, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

It seems extremely likely to me that there is a conflict of interest. Novellasyes (talk) 10:40, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
So sorry for taking so long to respond. I agree with you. I also believe there is a conflict of interest here. I am unsure what to do about it however I could begin compiling some evidence that I suppose we could present to the noticeboard. But I'm sure you're already well ahead of me on that one. Enjoy your weekend! The Glam Rock Joseph Stalin (talk) 18:12, 20 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think the first thing to do is to ask any potentially implicated users directly on their talk page(s). Novellasyes (talk) 21:55, 21 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
